Our paper is out in @iScience_CP !
We studied how secretory vesicles accumulate at the tips of growing fungal filaments, uncovering overlooked spatial and temporal diversity. A step forward in understanding fungal growth dynamics.

I love how creative image analysis can be; a detrended image showing the level of growth between 2 frames in a growing fungal pathogen. I was spending ages trying to get the absolute growth per filament (v.hard segmentation per single hypha). So simple!

NEW PAPER: Ever wondered why insects fly in all sorts of crazy patterns around lights at night? So did we! We set about recording flying insects to work out what's going on. I'll summarise what we found in this 🧵. Spoiler: We don't think they confuse lights with the moon.
Last January, I noticed something peculiar in my 2yo’s bedroom that - after a year of obsessive reporting - led me to a profound cosmic revelation about what’s even possible in our universe. A 🧵.
Are you looking to make your microscopy images pop? I've been working on an add-on to make loading tifs in @Blender more accessible!
With tif2blender, 3D animations of z-stacks are hopefully easier to make in open-source format.🌈

The Webb telescope has detected carbon dioxide and methane in the atmosphere of exoplanet K2-18 b, a potentially habitable world over 8 times bigger than Earth. Webb’s data suggests the planet might be covered in ocean, with a hydrogen-rich atmosphere: https://t.co/qN1SqCfFt1
