@txsportsdoc@DrDiGiorgio But that’s rubbish. We owe no one but ourselves (and families/loved ones).
Perpetuating this bullshit that modern students/doctors a “weak” or “entitled” or “lacking fortitude” is just perpetuating a broken system built on the backs of broken doctors (and nurses).

@txsportsdoc@DrDiGiorgio Sorry, but many of the views here are antiquated and demonstrated in research to be unsafe. It’s not “heroic” to work 72 hours straight, doing anything, let alone neurosurgery. It’s stupid.
The system is broken because we have been tricked into thinking we owe the patients. /n
@DrMLivingston@Telstra If I recall correctly, previous years there’s been statements to the effect that they just use a random number generator to spam texts. Random but confined to Australian mobile numbers.
It’s coming from one of those computer text services, rather than a phone too
@pinguufoster @SaraTon08500527 Hard when it is the self appointed “leader”. Also difficult when various examples of PAs being used to replace doctors (eg TAVI, Paeds liver, etc). I understand why there is so much anger. the individual PA might not be responsible, but if they take the role…
@SaraTon08500527 You are being a bit disingenuous here. The concern is about people who aren’t doctors misleading patients who think they are seeing a doctor. It’s not about physiotherapists or diabetic educators and their patients.
You know this.
Our healthcare system, characterised by patient choice and the independence of doctors, has provided world class care to generations of Australians. Now this system, built on the foundations of Medicare, is under threat. 1/3 @snouzin
