Your post made me go down the rabbit hole on this.
Plasma shipped mainnet in < 6mo.
Monad’s raised $200M+ for years, still pre-mainnet.
Why?
Plasma = fork + UX hacks = fast launch.
Monad = Solana speed + EVM compat = deep R&D, slower.
VC scale = can’t afford a broken launch.
For context:
- Ethereum: 2 years from idea to mainnet
- Solana: 2.5 years from idea to mainnet beta
- Monad: 3.5 years and counting
ETH & SOL shipped scrappy + fixed in public.
Monad has to ship polished, coz of the huge funding.
Two very different games.
Would love to know what you think? @KookCapitalLLC
how did plasma ship a mainnet with gasless usdt transfers and all this other new tek in under 6mo
and monad has been raising hundreds of millions for 4 years running and hasn't released anything?????
how is this possible
high profile institutional rug imo
TOKEN2049 Singapore: A recap from someone who wasn't there.
Here's what I think might have happened:
1/ Someone said "we're still early" at a conference attended by 25,000 people.
2/ At least 17 founders described their product as "the Stripe of Web3."
3/ A VC told 40 founders to "send me your deck." He will open none of them.
4/ Everyone agreed stablecoins are the future of payments. Then paid for dinner with Visa.
5/ A founder attended 12 side events, collected 200 contacts, and called it "building."
6/ Two founders took a picture together. A strategic partnership was announced 20 minutes later.
7/ At least one person returned home with 37 LinkedIn connections, 400 photos, and a newfound conviction that mass adoption is imminent.
Anyway, huge success. Bullish on the industry.

Been job hunting for 6 months, and one thing I’ve realised: you can’t expect yourself to be motivated every single day.
There’ll be days when you doubt yourself, worry about money, and wonder when or if it’s going to happen.
A few things that have helped me make the process less exhausting:
- On low-energy days, I just bookmark relevant hiring posts, check the deadline, and come back to them later.
- I’d rather apply properly to 1 role than half-heartedly apply to 5.
- Automate job discovery wherever possible. Let AI find relevant openings and put them into a sheet instead of spending hours searching Twitter/LinkedIn.
- Keep 2–3 versions of your CV ready for the kinds of roles you usually apply to. Tweak them instead of rebuilding your CV every time.
- Separate finding jobs from applying to them. You don’t need to do both at the same time.
- Have something you do every day that has absolutely nothing to do with getting a job.
Job hunting is already exhausting. The idea is to make the process sustainable enough that you don’t burn yourself out.
I don’t think the problem is that India hasn’t tried to export its culture. We have been doing that for decades through Bollywood, food, music, yoga and Ayurveda.
The bigger question is why that cultural exposure hasn’t converted the way it has for Korea.
Take Bollywood. Our movies release across the US, UK, Australia and elsewhere, but a large part of that audience is still the Indian diaspora. Korean shows, on the other hand, have managed to build audiences among people who have no connection to Korea.
So, maybe one thing we need to look at is whether our content travels well enough culturally and connects with audiences outside India.
The 2nd part is product quality and trust.
People may already be interested in Indian food or Ayurveda, but if the products we export run into quality or regulatory issues, that cultural interest won’t necessarily turn into consumer demand.
And fashion, to me, is probably downstream of content. You watch the shows, connect with the characters and then start becoming interested in what they wear, eat or use.
So I don’t think India needs to start exporting India. We already do that.
We need to understand why that exposure isn’t converting into the same level of global aspiration and consumption.
Korea exported culture.
Then the world bought Korean…
India has Bollywood, music, food, fashion, yoga and Ayurveda, a cultural moat very few countries can replicate..
Maybe we need to stop thinking only about exporting products and start deliberately exporting India.
Consumer brands will follow..
We mostly experience AI as:
“Write this.” “Change that.” “Find this.”
But there’s an entire infrastructure layer evolving underneath the prompt box that most of us barely see.
This Grass piece is a good glimpse into where that is headed.
