I feel like I'm living in a real life South Park episode, @ComedyCentral. The @Commanders erased REDSKINS in the name of sensitivity, then chose a name associated with a U.S. military COMMAND that massacred nearly 200 Blackfeet women, children, and elders in 1870. You can't make this stuff up.
The saddest part of the @Commanders is not just that they erased Native imagery from their identity. It is that every June, the NFL knows exactly how to celebrate people's lifestyle, but every November, Native American Heritage Month comes and goes without a single word from the team. No post. No tribute. They erased them from the brand, then ignored the month meant to honor them.
@Cheering4Change Desiree has been committed to do this amazing work to get our nation’s team the Washington Redskins name and logo back and we the family have been trying to get our White Calf history out to the masses because our family has history with Washington D.C. with my mother’s great grandfather Chief White Calf. We have met so many people on here who are now friends and the best fans #HTTR ever. We have met a few #Redskins alumni who support our family and Native American Culture, History & Heritage. Thank you Desiree for your amazing work. @NFL
Thank You @FPD3 Mr. Frank DiGiovine for reaching out to our family. We would be honored for Frank to forward to the @smithsonian leadership of our interest in meeting with them and representatives from NMAI. #HTTR#TwoGunsRising#WhiteCalfHistory and contact @Cheering4Change so we can schedule a meeting. Thank You! #WashingtonDC

He died & will always be remembered with our helmet raised in that legendary pose. They tried to brand Redskins as racist. They lied. Redskins will never die & lives forever in our hearts. In honor of Monte Coleman & Chief Two Guns White Calf, we reclaim #REDSKINS
