@NadavPollak Yes, but based on Trump’s hyperbolic threats that he consistently backs down from and his obvious desire for an immediate ceasefire (to undo his decision to go to war with them) it’s handing Iran the initiative and they are are exploiting it until he gives them a reason not to.

@mitchellvii Bad analysis. Japan fully surrendered first and we occupied the country thereafter (still have a military presence there today). Neither of those conditions apply to the current situation. Trump went from wanting “unconditional surrender” to seeking a “deal” at any cost.
