First, the Trump Administration tried to eliminate Head Start altogether.

When that failed, they apparently decided to make it worse instead.

Head Start is not just preschool. For hundreds of thousands of children from low-income families, it is where they learn to read, receive basic health screenings, get support for disabilities, and begin kindergarten with a real chance to succeed.

Now the Trump Administration wants to eliminate standards for class sizes, reading and math instruction, medical screenings, dental care, and support for children with disabilities.

These regulations are the difference between children getting the care and support they need or being left to fall through the cracks.
