@ZiaYusufUK To be honest we are already far too late to be relevant energy wise for data centers. It will take minimum 10 years to sort out the UK’s energy mess, but in 5ish years, data centers will be moving to space.
If we leapfrog and focus fully on space, might be some hope.
@BrainEngineer Seems cool for NPCs. Dynamic conversations and updating memory over time. Ignore the haters, build a good product and they will change their minds.
@campbellclaret Curious what your views on Singapore are. To me it seems to be the best run country on the planet right now, amazing quality of life, but by British standards it’s extremely far right and would probably be considered evil by many.
@augusteprompt Think our best hope would be approach our most elite entrepreneurs, tech founders etc and ask them to be an advisor to government for a year or so,
for the sake of the country. US did this successfully with people like David Sacks advising on AI policy.
@vrexec Americans have global tax problem, so harder to move. Also if your state becomes a shithole, u can move state. In Europe you need to move country to escape.
@Tommyw45987258@Ameer_Kotecha No, it’s comparing the net change in employed under 25s.
Simple example. 1 mill new Brits employed, but 1 mill Brits also turn 26 so churn out of the statistic. There is 0 net change is employed Brits under 25, but that’s very different to saying Brits didn’t get any new jobs.
@Ameer_Kotecha Simple example. 1 mill under 25 Brits hired, but 1 mill Brits also turn 26, so churn out of the under 25 statistic. The NET change in Brits hired is 0. This is what’s confusing them. 27:1 hiring ratio is completely wrong.
There are issues with migration, but let’s keep it real.
@Ameer_Kotecha It’s wrong. There are 3.8 mill brits under 25 employed, 370,000 non-EU migrants.
The NET change since 2020 was 27:1 ratio, which is what’s confusing people. Brits employed stayed stable, slightly up by +11k, but migrants increased 290k, the 27:1 ratio being shared.
@GBPolitcs This is wrong. There are 3.8 mill brits under 25 employed, 370,000 non-EU migrants.

@nilihus99124@PatrickChristys I checked, it’s not. There are 3.8 mill brits under 25 employed, 370,000 non-EU migrants.
The NET increase since 2020 was 27:1 ratio tho, which is confusing them. Brits employed stayed stable, slightly up by +11k, but migrants increased 290k, the 27:1 ratio they mention.
@mwseibel No US democrat cities are run well IMO, but Denmark is probably the closest thing to a well run place with similar values. They are right wing on some things like immigration, labor laws, and tax everyone rather than only the rich, but have a welfare state democrats would love.
@JohnnyFocal@1ohreally After years of work, my app is finally profitable. I started hiring TikTok creators to post videos. Each video earns $10, so I can pay max $9 per video. It’s a great student side hustle, low effort, but it’s illegal to hire in UK for this (since under min wage), so I use AI now.
@TonyBlueberry@PeterMcCormack Singapore has some of the best infrastructure in the world and tax their citizens much less than UK. Not much UK tax revenues actually go to infra, it goes to unproductive people on benefits.
