The Warning Decision Training Division conducts outreach events using two approaches, reaching a broad audience from K-12 to graduate students and the general public. They give them a glimpse into the job duties of warning forecasters in the National Weather Service. #AMS2025
This project has been a pretty wild journey, and just scratches the surface on looking into the forecaster’s decision making process.
From personal biases, data interrogation experience, and even prior event PTSD, so much impacts a forecaster’s decision to pull the trigger.
