Condemnation Statement

The Human Rights Council of Pakistan strongly condemns the shocking incident outside Adiala Jail, where the turban of renowned religious scholar Allama Raja Nasir Abbas @AllamaRajaNasir was forcibly removed through high-pressure water while he stood peacefully in solidarity with the sisters of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
This act is a blatant violation of religious dignity, human rights, freedom of expression, and the right to peaceful assembly—all protected under Pakistan’s Constitution and international human rights law.
We call for immediate accountability for those responsible and urge the protection of religious figures, women, and peaceful protesters. The use of state force to humiliate or intimidate citizens is unacceptable and must end.

This poem reflects the tragedy of conflicts where both the killer and the slain share the same faith. It questions why the birds do not come and the stones do not fall — symbols of divine intervention — when both sides pray to the same God. The verses expose the moral confusion when the oppressor and the oppressed bow before the same Kaaba, both calling upon Allah. It mourns the silence of nature and heaven in the face of brother killing brother. Ultimately, it’s a cry against the loss of conscience in a war without righteousness.
