Yesterday, I held an all day summit w/ my @Google UX leadership team, where we focused on building our values and principles as leaders, tackling hot topics, expressing gratitude, and bonding. It was amazing.
Healthy teams are not the result of blind luck. They're purpose built.
Really, really love this. "You're welcome". People with disabilities and differences to able-bodied people have contributed so much to improving our everyday environment and worlds. We should be able to talk about it. #DisabilityAwareness
In collaboration with our Disability Awareness Network (DAWN) @PwC_UK has launched its #EnablingEveryone campaign โYouโre Welcomeโ, to highlight the amazing, everyday things we benefit from that were invented for disabled and neurodivergent people.
Third time in history a woman is announced as prime minister for the UK.
Hope is on relief packages for those who need it given rising costs and the astronomical price itโll take to heat a home and feed a household as we head towards winter. Then the rest.
An example of #MentalHealth being a community effort and the important role carers take on. Not often made visible like this. Hope the treatment path helps๐
Getting messages about my job being advertised, so here goes: it is with sadness that I have resigned from The Times. It was the dream job, but it has come at a nightmare time for my family. I'm taking some time off to put them first before getting back in the saddle.
This is my favourite week at @PwC_UK
200+ 16/ 17 year olds, from lower socio-economic backgrounds, take part in a paid week of experience.
They get skills and insights from our leaders, including chairman @KevinJDEllis, head of legal @TOwusuAdjei_PwC and so many more๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ
Today I had the opportunity to speak to our #NewWorldNewSkills work experience students about my journey from graduate to chairman. It's great to be able to offer these opportunities to students who might not otherwise have access to this type of work experience. #SocialMobility
22 years ago Glasgow Uni accepted me with lower grades than needed because of a widening access policy. My Dad, a teacher, was forever impressed. He didnโt live to see it but today they promoted me to Professor. This oneโs for you Paw Broon, your hand at my back X
@alex_janiaud Very interesting! Sounds like a promising approach. A gendered look at council or government spending would help show the reality. We do BBCโs 50:50 measuring of how many of our spokespeople are women. It shows us the balance and holds us accountable.
Suddenly remembering this 2022 pay gap report that found Football was the only sector with a higher gender pay gap than financial services.
Hope the sponsor deals come rolling in for these players #EURO2022

More than two decades of watching football (since I was 7) and I never imagined getting to watch women play the same famous game. Thanks to the few who kept going and pushed it through to today, first game I saw and they brought it home. To many more! #euros2022
Going live now - Return to the City Series: Hybrid Working
@PwC_UK experts discussing post-pandemic hybrid-working and what it means for work, office spaces and the surrounding community.

"Countless studies have shown that those who are happier at work also do a better job. Yet many companies have misunderstood what happiness at work means. It is not the same long hours, but with ping pong tables and free food." Productivity, retention, hiring all up for grabs๐
Thanks @VhernieM for sharing your story of being a child refugee coming to London. The care and responsibility you took to tell this was admirable.
We need stories like this and actions to support #refugees in the challenges they face.

Good luck to @PwC_UKโs NewLaw team at the #FTInnovativeLawyers Awards! Nominated for the SmartESG blockchain app, created with @IntegraLedger, it validates companies ESG credentials and shares these between businesses, helping supply chains be ESG aware. https://t.co/uvtVP9IPoM
LIVE: We have just started our #FTInnovativeLawyers FT Collaborative Innovation Award & Drinks Reception with @_RSGI. Find out more: https://t.co/ZBM90Lu4vw

The UK education system is world leading. But that doesnโt mean it is perfect. It needs to adapt to respond to the challenges of skills gaps, green jobs, mental health and inequality.
Great report and event @TimesEducation @RSylvesterTimes @PwC_UK
Not everyone's social mobility story will be like Sarah's, as she scaled to the top of a professional services firm. But she's right that we need to take a more open, creative and accurate look at where a person can get their skills and potential from. #SocialMobilityDay
โWhere you started out should not be the thing that holds you back from where you go, but actually I think it could be the thing that fuels and encourages you." - @SarahMoorePwC tells us about how the skills she gained growing up have shaped her as a leader #SocialMobilityDay
Interesting discussion started by @SMCommission asking us to unfold all the things we mean when we say โsocial mobilityโ? Itโs a simple, often misused, catch-all term for a very complex subject, set of challenges and aims.
The comments on threads like this showcase that.
From what I can see there's nothing in Katharine Birbalsingh's speech that's either objectionable or new. Nobody who thinks about this stuff would argue social mobility is solely about getting poor kids to Oxbridge.
