Talk about everyone wants a revolution but no one wants to do the dishes. Feminist men, a word: learn to do all those things and DO them. Take the notes. Organize the group gift. Keep track of birthdays. Take the lunch order and call it in. DO a feminism, don’t just say it.
When I teach professionals, I sometimes put them in groups to discuss and take notes. I specifically name that women are overwhelmingly called upon to serve as recorders, so I ask that every group assign a man to do this. The reactions are *wild*. Regularly, one man makes a 1/x
lack of racist, sexist, classist, and other willfully ignorant views is not a lack of "viewpoint diversity"...it's just good practice. It's quite reasonable to not include factually erroneous and intentionally discriminatory viewpoints.

andre braugher had a way of speaking like he loved every weird little clause of a sentence, like somehow his voice and his gravity could hold onto more separate thoughts and rhythms and linguistic turns than most people could ever hold at once. it was such a pleasure to hear him.

What’s become apparent in the last few years to me, is that a lot of people find the idea that they should have a responsibility and obligation to other people around them, highly oppressive. It’s a level of egocentrism that even children would be admonished for.
A world where you never have to go and think beyond yourself, where you can take without ever having to give, or experience the friction of being with others, of considering others who don’t immediately benefit you, is easy and comfortable. But it’s childish and embarrassing.
