Writers, we need to develop a community where everyone is more willing to follow people. Dont shame them for being bad at something and dont shame them for being good at something or bragging about it. Quit talking about irrelevant stuff! Inspire better and new discourse!!
Tell me what your favorite books are and why! Tell me your favorite writers and cover arts! Tell me your favorite publishing strategy! Tell me how long it took you to publish that first book!
Talking about my own book is pointless. So, let's try something different.
Market an indie book you've read. Space Cheese by @JasonWMizer
A lighthearted comedy set in space. It's not about complex plots; It's meant to help you unwind after life's many plot twists. L1nk bellow🔗
i wish when ppl would make “books no one talks about” lists they would actually not be the same 10 I keep seeing. let’s find indie authors with <100 reviews
@eccentric_raven Honestly, if you can do a mix of both, your story will be better off for it. Just do what's best for you and don't commit 100% to either method.
@DanNEO_SS@burkov The moment we lose the kinds of skills they're making robots for, we will be completely dependent on the corporate system for survival, and that will make us more like slaves or cattle than anything ever created before. We are on the verge of living in a dystopian novel.
@DanNEO_SS@burkov AI may not be replacing employees. These layoffs are directly tied to companies believing that they can hire cheaper labor outside of the US, such as India, and use the AI to fill in the skill gap. While the H1-B visas now cost a hundred thousand, other visas still exist.
@PyresMagicka A literally just learned another way to use commas, and pauses, today. I knew about the pausing thing but to interrupt the flow and emphasize "and word" is a new one. I like it even if I only use that for my video essays.
@E_Iryolis@roseshandss@staidindoors Nah, the sentence structure is fine. A comma might be missing but it can be understood with an understanding of sentence structure patterns (the if dependent clause).
He did misspell "without"
@NoahRayWrites The algo continues to make no sense.
I guess comments are the only way to be noticed, but I find that only certain people actually look at my profile from them, aka other writers.
If I end up in a community outside that scope, I never see a single follow. ;-;
I don't know what kind of garbage growth advice people are giving you, but here's what worked for me:
Stop posting- focus on replying to topics you're an expert on, the posts of large accounts.
I gained my following during COVID. I had information, important information- posting was screaming into the void- so I spent my time in the comments of the WaPo NYT, and mega accounts correcting their stories, adding additional insights and commentary.
To this day, even with over 100,000 followers, my most viral posts, the posts with the absolute most views, were comments on larger accounts. (Rolling Stone, Jimmy Kimmel) It was comments on CNN and other news sites that landed my posts air time on podcasts and even on Fox News.
The magic, the real magic of X, isn't posting; it's in the comments. That's where you get access to power.
Find your niche, develop a distinct voice, add value to the readers and the followers, and engagement will come.
@avivafashion11 3 months, and you've pulled thousands of views for nearly every post??? I mean, if you don't want them, I'll happily take them off your hands. I only get a few hundred on my best post and 8 views per post!
What we really need is a law that forces corporations to make AI optional instead of integrated so we can actually turn it off everywhere and then also have the default be OFF.
The NVIDIAAI post is a teaser: "A new era of PC."
The numbers **25.0528, 121.5990** are latitude/longitude coordinates for Taipei, Taiwan — specifically near the Nangang Exhibition Center (TaiNEX), the main venue for **COMPUTEX 2026** (June 1-5).
NVIDIA is running **GTC Taipei** there with keynotes, demos, and big reveals on AI PCs, next-gen RTX tech, and personal AI supercomputing. Classic hype move ahead of major announcements.
