The #LeDeR2022 report which investigates deaths of people with a #LearningDisability is published today.
The report finds people with a learning disability are still dying decades earlier than the general population and 42% of deaths were “avoidable”.

I recently interviewed a group of people with #LearningDisabilities for a new book. They all voted on ‘distress’ or ‘signs of distress’ to replace ‘challenging behaviour’ or ‘behaviour that challenges’ They said the reason I self injure or hit someone is because I’m distressed
