The best way to see the beauty around you is to see it through the eyes of someone who has never seen it.
Thank you to the World Cup Tourists for reminding us.
The World Cup absolutely mogs every other sporting event. It’s what the Olympics wishes it was X100.
You’ve got Europeans road-tripping across America and having their minds blown by Buc-ee’s and Bass Pro Shops. You’ve got a small Kansas town falling in love with an Algerian club that chose Kansas City as their homebase. You’ve got South Korea training in Utah to prepare for the altitude in Guadalajara.
For one month, the whole world forgets we’re supposed to hate each other over differences that barely matter. It’s the closest thing we have to world peace.
Not even kidding seeing foreigners discover the best that America has to offer has genuinely made me realize how much we take for granted in this country.
There’s nowhere else in the world where you can go tubing, watch Messi play, and eat Beaver Nuggets all in 24 hours.
We have officially reached the point where I check the World Cup calendar before committing to anything. Wife wants to do something that day, let me check. Friends want to make plans, sorry, two games going at the same time. The World Cup owns my life now.
Always think World Cups are so beautiful for associative memory. They come every four years, allow you to reflect on life, how far you have come, where you were when it last came and just an opportunity to somehow be grateful for everything.
Annual Priest Convocation Wiffle Ball Game.
We pick teams by ordination year (odds v. evens).
Evens won 29-13. Second win in a row for them.
Bishop Konderla pitched a complete game but did give up 29 runs.
He's the best bishop in the country but got humbled last night by the Evens.
@CurtJester Like being thanked for your service today when you’re the spouse of a retired living service member. 😬 But there is a kind sentiment behind it, so…
@FrNickOFMConv Another vote for coffee milk. Hood Dairy has it in single-serve bottles. If your digestive system does not object, baked stuffed clams are quite nice.
