Hyderabad, Telangana: YSRCP leader Mekapati Vikram says, "Regarding the state's finances, I think we should go back four years, when Chandrababu Naidu propagated that Andhra Pradesh's financial situation was similar to Sri Lanka's and that the state was about to collapse at any moment because of the poor policies of the previous government. So, if you look into the details of the state's finances, at the time of the state's division, it inherited around ₹1.4 lakh crore in debt..."

From the perspective of Rural economy, effective implementation of the MGNREGA is of vital importance. This programme enhances disposable incomes in rural sections who have highest marginal propensity to consume, thereby supporting Rural consumption.
Historically, Andhra Pradesh (AP) has been considered one of the best-performing states in MGNREGA implementation. Over the last two years of the TDP alliance Government, we have witnessed the State lagging on this front.
On almost all parameters, such as Approved labour budget, Total Households worked and Expenditure and so forth, the performance signals contraction over last two years.
This is also evident from low GST and Sales tax growth during the last two years, clearly indicating lower purchasing power and consequently lower demand.
The TDP alliance Government is too preoccupied with indulging in corruption driven by unquenchable thirst for wealth and does not have the bandwidth to focus on the problems confronting the people of the State.
Today marks a beautiful spiritual coincidence as our Christian brothers & sisters begin the holy season of #Lent and our Muslim brothers & sisters begin the sacred month of #Ramadan.
May this period of fasting, prayer, and self-reflection bring peace, health, and prosperity to every household in our state. Let us celebrate our shared values of compassion and charity.

VIDEO | Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh: YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy (@ysjagan) criticises the coalition government for neglecting farmers, citing the crash in banana and onion prices.
He says, "The situation with bananas is terrible. Farmers are not finding buyers even for ₹3,000, while during our YSRCP regime, they earned ₹25,000 to ₹30,000. Urea is not reaching farmers, and commissions are being collected. In our rule, we ensured every farmer received urea in his village through Rythu Bharosa Kendra (RBKs), without block selling or commissions. Today, a bag of urea costs ₹200 more, and farmers are forced to buy pesticides they don’t need. During our rule, it was available at ₹265 through RBKs and societies in every village. Now, both are defunct, and black marketing is thriving."
He added, “There is no price for any crop—onion, sugarcane, banana, or millet. Chandrababu’s Annadata Sukhibhavaa Scheme promised ₹40,000 every two years, but only ₹5,000 has been given so far. The government has completely abandoned the free crop insurance that we gave farmers. Officials are openly promoting black marketing, and I question why urea quotas are not being allocated to RBKs and PACS."

I am very pleased to learn of the commencement of operations in the manufacturing facilities established by Teknodome and Texana in Kopparthy. The Mega Industrial Hub at Kopparthy was proposed in August 2019, the EMC at Kopparthy could secure approval from STPI in March 2021, and the Industrial Hub along with EMC were launched in December 2021. From then onwards, massive investments were attracted, promising a true transformation of the entire district due to investment and ancillaryization.
It is very admirable that the Teknodome and Texana facilities, that entered into the development phase during 2022-2023, could demonstrate such rapid progress and are now commencing commercial operations. On this momentous occasion, I wish the management and all the employees of Teknodome and Texana, Godspeed. The YSRCP Government laid utmost emphasis on the Industry sector and on the manufacturing sector in particular, as it firmly believed in those sectors’ importance in ensuing inclusive and sustainable development of the State. It is noteworthy that the AP manufacturing sector GSDP grew at a CAGR of 11.12% during 2019-2024 as against the corresponding National figure of 6.9%.

Andhra Pradesh Government’s lack of fiscal discipline and disregard for the Constitutional framework.
It is learnt that, on 25th June, 2025, APMDC concluded the second tranche of its NCD (bond) issuance at a coupon (interest) rate of 9.30% and raised Rs. 5,526 crores, taking the aggregate value of the issuance to Rs. 9,000 crores. This is despite the matter being admitted by the AP High Court and notices served. Further, it is quite apparent that the proceeds of the issuance would be utilized for financing Government revenue expenditure.
With total disregard to the Constitutional provisions and in an unprecedented manner, the TDP alliance Government, granted private parties, access to the Consolidated Fund of the State through RBI direct debit mandate, owing to which, private parties can access the State exchequer and withdraw funds without any requirement of any action from the State Government officials. This is a blatant violation of Articles, 203, 204 and 293(1) of the Constitution of India.
As an additional security for the NCDs (Bonds), In a manner unheard of, the TDP Government also mortgaged mineral wealth, which is Government property worth Rs. 1,91,000 crores for NCD (bond) issuances of aggregate value Rs. 9,000 crores.
With such permission to access State Consolidated Fund and mortgage of Government property of disproportionately huge value, one would imagine that these bond are even more secure than the SDLs (State Development Loans) issued by the State Government.
Despite this, the APMDC NCDs (Bonds) were issued at a coupon (interest) rate as high as 9.30%, which is 2.60% higher than the prevailing SDL rate.
Owing to the high interest rate, the additional yearly burden on the APMDC is to the tune of Rs. 235 crores and the term of NCDs is understood to be 10 years. Can @ncbn Garu answer as to who pocketed this?
With this NCD issuance, the total budget and off-budget borrowings availed and secured in this 13 month period by the TDP alliance Government exceeded 50% of what was borrowed by previous Government over a 5 year period.
