@Object_Zero_ @stephensackur @BBCHARDtalk The Rest is Hard Talk? 😂 @GoalhangerPods @campbellclaret @RoryStewartUK

[Andrew Cox @Andrew_DCox]

@stephensackur @BBCHARDtalk This is deeply stoopid. I hope BBC will reconsider this and avoid further dumbing down

@AGRA_Africa @NEPAD_Mayaki @Ilde_Musafiri @RwandaAgri @JJ_Mbonigaba @JJilanka @Machariajm @JosefaSacko @Agnes_Kalibata Incredible consensus about food systems approaches amongst African leaders. The point I liked? From @cmrodrigueze of @theGEF. Ministries of Agriculture and Environment are two sides of the same coin - but are mostly separate in how they work. Let’s see them join up!

[Boaz Blackie @blackiesq]

HE @NEPAD_Mayaki @NEPAD_Mayaki AU Special Envoy on Food Systems greatly steered the High Level Ministerial at the #AFSForum2024 and was great to hear Ministers speak on bold policy actions to drive food systems forward

I’m indebted to a brilliant team: lead author Prof. Thomas Reardon, and Prof. @SawedaTasie, Prof. @ChemaTriki, @TinasheKapuya, @WandileSihlobo, @JonathanSaid1, Sunru Yong and other @DalbergTweet contributors, and others contributors - and editor Jane Njuguna of @AGRA_Africa.

We’ve launched here at the @TheAGRF the annual #AASR #AfricaAgricultureStatusReport.  This is a critical report for policy makers to drive #FoodSystems transformation through enabling the private sector.  @AGRA_Africa https://t.co/UktV7FWO84

For African MSMEs to thrive and build inclusive food systems, governments must invest in infrastructure and coherent policies. This includes improving roads, electricity, and market access, and supporting policies. @AGRA_Africa #AASR

This essay is required reading. It is especially strong on calling for evidence rather than increased ideology / zealotry - which is often what we see.

[George Monbiot @GeorgeMonbiot]

1. This essay has resonated more than perhaps any other I’ve ever written. I’ve had a massive response. The overwhelming message has been “thank goodness this nonsense has been called out.” Short 🧵 https://t.co/tJjZ27oMQr

that's cool !

Yesterday evening, big batteries provided 5.2GW of instantaneous power to California's grid.

That's the equivalent of 5 typical nuclear plants.

The batteries were charged up on sunshine earlier in the day.

Ending thought about the #ACS2023 : good it was accepted that we have to find billions for climate related investments. How we do that now takes us towards @COP28_UAE

I spent this week at the #AfricaClimateSummit (ACS) in Nairobi. I've seen the declaration. Some key thoughts.

(@AGRA_Africa supported the ACS as technical lead, consulting multiple partners. We had wonderful ministerial and presidential sessions, led by @PM_Desalegn) 1/

[Andrew Cox @Andrew_DCox]

I would have liked to see more on the #foodsystems transformation, so critical in #adaptation and #sustainabledevelopment. Great that HEP @WilliamsRuto speaking to this at the the @TheAGRF 2023 @Agnes_Kalibata @AGRA_Africa 8/
