For #WAAW, ReAct Europe brought together 20 Master’s students from Uppsala University’s Infection Biology program to explore how communities can contribute to tackling the global AMR challenge.
The workshop was led by ReAct’s Maria Pränting and Andrea Caputo Svensson, who provided an overview of the global threat of AMR and highlighted why community engagement is essential for lasting change.
During the workshop Dr. Pablo Estrella Porter from the Quadripartite Working Group on Youth Engagement for AMR also shared inspiring youth-driven initiatives from around the world. 🌍✨

An inspiring seminar today on the value of resilient sanitation systems, hosted by @WaterAidSverige and @Sida.
ReAct was represented by Andea Caputo Svensson, Global Health Advisor, who highlighted how strengthening sanitation is not only about preventing infections, it is about building systemic resilience in a polycrisis world where climate change, biodiversity loss, pandemics and conflict accelerate AMR risks.
Sanitation remains one of the most powerful levers to cut infections at the source, reduce antibiotic use, and protect communities. Grateful for the rich cross-sector discussions and the shared commitment to solutions that create fairer, safer, and more sustainable systems.

#ReAct20Years #AMR #AntibioticResistance #CommunityEngagement
ReAct is proud to have been one of the invited presenters at yesterday’s #WHA78 side-event hosted by the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) and International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies - IFRC.
At the event, our own Andrea Caputo Svensson, Ph.D. shared insights on tackling antimicrobial resistance (AMR) through policy, stewardship, and the One Health approach.
The World Health Assembly continues to be an important meeting point to strengthen and build momentum for stronger global action on #AntibioticResistance. 🌍
It was a pleasure to connect with experts like Sunny Singh, WaterAid America, Andreas Berglöf, WaterAid Sverige and Dušan Jasovský, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) — all of whom bring invaluable experience to address #AMR.
This year we have a few ReAct representatives at the sidelines of #WHA78 in Geneva.
Andrea Caputo Svensson joined the installment of the FP Global Health Forum, important discussions for the global health community about the investments and strategies needed to protect progress and create a safer, healthier world.
He also joined the @HealthDiploA side-event: The AMR Equation: Where Innovation Meets Urgency - Cross Sectoral Collaboration for Preventing and the Mitigating AMR.
This panel discussion explored key aspects of #AMR prevention and control, focusing on evidence-based policymaking, collaborative governance, policy integration, funding mechanisms, and health diplomacy.
