The left love the cliched trope that "Being British is all about driving a German car to an Irish theme pub to drink Belgian beer then going home buying an Indian take-away to sit on a Swedish sofa in front of a Japanese television to watch American shows and all the while being suspicious of anything foreign."

All this says about Britain is that we are open to trade and exchanges of culture. The sum total of Britain's culture is not what we consume. It's about who we are, what we've come from, what we've accomplished and what we stand for.

The idea that we are defined only by what we consume is largely a neoliberal idea, and further evidence that the modern left no longer resembles anything meaningfully left wing. It's why the remainers saw the Brexit debate solely in terms of their access to commodities and luxuries.

It's also why they see no issue with demographic replacement. Real British culture, in their eyes, has no inherent value and can be readily discarded. This is also why they don't see any issue with decolonisation and the removal of statues. Relics of the past hold no meaning for them. They must be swept away to usher in the new blank slate era where nobody has any cultural, spiritual or ethnic bond with tangible places.

Against human nature, we are to be reduced to stateless economic units. On a long enough timeline, this results in purges of any inconvenient living reminders that anything else ever existed.

This warped ideology is also predicated on the faulty notion that replacements from foreign cultures will leave their cultures behind, and join us in being passive consumers. Foreign cultures are viewed not as replacement culture, but diluting agents towards a multicultural ideal. But what we actually see is a reversion to primitive tribalism as each tribe vies for supremacy - usually concluding in civil unrest and war. We're seeing the beginnings of it now. We're just not supposed to talk about it. Our own culture is subordinated.

Race grifters and leftists often say they don't know what British culture is. That everything we are is stolen or appropriated, and they perpetuate that view through our meda and institutions. It's strategic. You can't call to conserve something if it can't even be defined.

But as @shumbaloo just tweeted, "British culture is hard to encapsulate - but you know it when you see it. It's distinct at all levels from "high culture" to the lowest. From art, architecture and music down to the drunken rowdiness of British people just having a good time". It's there to be seen if one has eyes to see.

But it's as much about our values. Our often muddled justice system bears the hallmarks of our devotion to compassion, fairness, equity, equality and freedom. Our system attempts to balance rehabilitation with punishment. Forgiveness and second chances. Values forged by a thousand years of democratisation and enlightenment. A system every civilised country has attempted to replicate.

That I drive a German car, sit on a Swedish sofa and eat Indian food is neither here nor there. Who we are is built up around us. Our cathedrals and ancient universities. Our streets, our graveyards, our museums and our countryside. Those who deny it exists are those who seek to eradicate it, and us along with it.

How one Bad Published Conclusion resulted in false beliefs that CO2 warms the oceans!

To counteract the undeniable fact that CO2 infrared only penetrates a few microns into the ocean surface, and then is immediately radiated away creating a cool skin surface layer, climate alarmists always refer to a horribly biased conclusion in the 2018 Wong & Minnett paper (hereafter W&M) The Response of the Ocean Thermal Skin Layer to Variations in Incident Infrared Radiation.

The data in their paper was excellent as they engaged in an ocean survey with the only equipment that can accurately measure incoming and outgoing infrared at the ocean surface. But their conclusion was HORRIFIC.

W&M’s conclusion was biased by their intent to prove CO2 infrared could warm the ocean, a mechanism that no other climate scientist had yet to provide to support the global warming crisis narratives.

W&M correctly stated “direction of flow of heat is almost always from the ocean to the atmosphere meaning that the surface temperature is cooler than the temperature below the TSL.” (see upper graphic) TSL refers to what researchers elsewhere call the “cool skin layer”. Ocean heat can only ventilate from that cool skin layer.

While absorbed infrared can radiate away immediately, any absorbed solar heat in subsurface waters must rise to the cool skin layer to ventilate. That requires a longer time. Thus, there is always a temperature gradient from the warm subsurface to cool skin layer where solar heated ocean water then ventilates.

W&M compared outgoing infrared cooling under clear and cloudy skies and determined they were equal under both conditions. However, because cloudy skies increased the downward infrared by 40 W/m2, W&M concluded:

‘increasing infrared warmed the cool skin surface layer which reduced the temperature gradient that controlled the rate of subsurface heat conducting to the skin layer and thus trapped subsurface heat and warmed the oceans.’

That hypothetical conclusion thrilled alarmist scientists whose careers and funding depend on maintaining a crisis narrative, as well as thrilling brainwashed internet ClimateDopes that never engage in critical thinking.

However, W&M’s own data show that clouds had also reduced temperature gradient by reducing solar heating of the subsurface waters. Reduced solar heat counter balanced increased infrared.

Although every climate scientist knows oceans warm in the summer and cool in the winter, to push the global warming narrative, W&M assumed any solar heat had ventilated during the night, so they never mentioned the reduced solar heating by clouds had reduced the gradient even though they show it in their graphs.

Subsurface heat was not being trapped by the clouds’ added infrared energy, B, so outgoing infrared remained the same under both conditions.

It’s not a surprise to me at all that there’s so many white people in Britain, since historically Britain has always been predominantly white.
No one complains that there’s too many Japanese people in Japan or too many Chinese in china and not enough “diversity” in those countries.

The BBC is asking why we’re no longer tuning into @BBCRadio4. There’s a very simple answer: We now have a choice in the matter. We’ve never actually liked R4 but for many years it was the only show in town for news and politics. Everything else was sports focussed. Now that we have choices, the BBC will struggle to compete.

As it happens, I don’t like TalkTV much either, but it does at least talk about relevant topics and it is at least on our side. The BBC, on the other hand, is the mouthpiece of the blobocracy. Green NGOs, refugee charities and progressive think tanks. If it’s a choice between listening to blood curdling screams from the seventh level of hell or Nick Robinson, it’s always the former.

There’s a more general problem for news radio though. We used to need it to get the news. It was the place to go. But now we know the news at the same time they do, and they’re just reacting to it the same as us. We have equal or better access to expertise. We do not need the superficial cleverdick prattle of overpaid BBC hacks.

But I do wonder what the BBC is complaining about. It made itself perfectly clear. It doesn’t like people like me. Its comedy output sneers and mocks people like me. It thinks I’m stupid, morally deficient or bigoted for thinking what I think about Brexit, climate and immigration. So why does it even want me as a listener? We got the message, BBC. You wanted us to fuck off and we have – to a station that allows our viewpoint to be heard and debated.

If I think back, I used to like R4 for its occasional afternoon documentaries. A few years back they did one on the evolution of plastic surgery from WW1. It wouldn’t have entered my head to read about that. It added value. But now when I tune in, the chances are, I’m going to be listening to a climate activist or some wearisome lecture about the Windrush generation. (we get it, we’re all racist and it was actually black lesbian reggae artists who built Concorde – not pink-faced gammon like me).

So could the BBC ever win me back? Sorry Auntie, but it’s pointless to even try. If a tree falls in the forest and nobody is there to hear it, did it make a sound? You could try to improve your tone but I’m not interested in your attempts. You can’t disguise the BBC’s contempt for us. You could try to produce what you think we want to hear, but you’ll only end up being more condescending because you don’t respect us.

So what’s to be done? Nothing. You do you, BBC. Carry on being what you want to be. It works for the people who still listen to you. They choose to pay for it, I choose not to. There’s no problem. It was a problem when I was denied a choice, but now I’m perfectly content for you to fade into irrelevance. Just hurry up, will you?
