This is extremely disturbing, no animal on this island should have its throat slit while conscious. It is a barbaric act.
How many Irish people are unknowingly eating meat where an animal has been killed in this cruel and totally unnecessary manner?
Start asking if you have any concerns. We all need to make a fuss about this and boycott companies who use this meat.
@independent_ire@kenoflynnTD
@griptmedia The packaging is so misleading as well. This looks like chicken from an Irish farm but when you look on the back this 'Farm Range' in Dunnes is all halal
There should be absolutely no place in Ireland for Halal slaughter of animals. It is inhumane and cruel.
Everyone has a right to know if the meat they’re consuming, whether it’s shops, restaurants, takeaways etc is halal.
Halal meat should be available to import but that’s it.
This practice must be outlawed. Where is the @DublinSPCA on this and why are they not up in arms.
All forms of cruel slaughter including kosher should be banned and Irish animal rights groups should be lobbying government to do so.
I guess these groups prefer the government/taxpayer funds more than they do about cruel slaughter practices
The number of animals slaughtered in this cruel and inhumane way in Ireland in previous years was colossal. Even 116,000 in 2025 is 116,000 too many.
The Government should impose a ban on this repugnant practice immediately. @MichealMartinTD
⚠️ The UK plans to add Folic Acid to Flour products in what is being regarded as a deeply unethical MASS MEDICATION event.
Folic Acid is linked with elevated Cancer levels and other harms.
👉 Ireland imports 70% of its flour from Britain.
This again.
There should be no halal (or shechita) slaughter in this country.
It's needlessly cruel and it's also a scam - you have to pay for for your Halal cert.
No-stun slaughter should be completely banned.
If people don't like it, they can become vegetarian.
Or leave.
So we've to pay carbon tax now?
Gov - yes!
I presume that money will be used to help finance nuclear energy?
Gov - eh no. But we will have a new NGO called "hope for future" which sounds nice.
So its just another crippling tax nothing to do with providing carbon free energy?
Not one of us will know a single person out of this ‘10,000 people!’
Yet it’ll be deemed a monumental success and rolled out across the entire country
Then it’ll be mandatory
Then you’re screwed
Enough is enough!

It was their job to put the security of the country and the welfare and safety of the Irish people FIRST, above all else.
Instead, they are behaving like a monarchy rather than serving the Irish people.
The path they have chosen was never put before the Irish people
The EU has just passed regulations which mandate driver-facing cameras in all new vehicles registered in the EU from July 2026.
AutoNotion summarises the new camera rule as,
"An infrared camera, usually mounted on the steering column or dash, tracks your eyes and head. Look away from the road for more than 3.5 seconds above 50 km/h, or 6 seconds below it, and it beeps, flashes, or buzzes at you. Ignore it and the warnings escalate."
Tracey O'Mahony breaks down how it's a significant escalation in the EU's citizen surveillance project.
The American tourists are not coming to Ireland.I wonder why that might be!! They used to come in their droves to see the Lakes of Killarney, the red haired Irish colleen's, the real Irish pubs and the fantastic Irish traditional music ..
With the alarming increase in violent brutal murders in Ireland it is NOW time the limition placed on the Irish Judiciary in not being able to nominate a tariff including a whole life term in mandatory life sentences must be addressed through legislation as a matter of priority
