@RhondaP15698905 I agree Sissy essential workers deserve this compensation. It is unclear how exactly they would receive this money. In some cases like grocery store workers the employer would have to apply for the funds and distribute it to the employees.

Hazard pay for essential workers also known as the Heroes Fund up for debate. Those who earn less than $200,000 a year would receive a maximum payment of $25,000. Health care workers would receive a payment up to $15,000. For some working from home is not an option. #SW401

@AnnetteZ_SW This is a great article, thanks for sharing. My internship was at a low income school and there were many students who had not learned coping strategies to properly navigate the ups and downs of life. This has now been compounded by the current unique situation.

@RhondaP15698905 Access and support of mental health is front and center. Once the crisis becomes more manageable what systems will be put in place for health care workers who will develop PTSD. Several health care workers have committed suicide in Italy in recent days. #SW401

@paul_icatar Privilege run deeps in America and it is a matter of life and death. In my state (IL) the disproportionate number of minority deaths due to COVID-19 is alarming. I am hopeful that this alarm will wake everyone up to do something about it. #SW401

@RhondaP15698905 I was pleasantly surprised to learn how many social workers are elected officials in state and local positions. It makes sense due to the similarity in work that elected officials and social workers do. Political action is a much needed macro practice. #SW401
