I loved the course Digital Technology and Disruptive Change because it allowed me to explore the impact of technology in relationships, work, culture, and entertainment. I am finishing the semester with a more positive outlook on embracing change. #DigiTechS22B
One takeaway I learned this semester is the importance of digital technologies for marginalized communities. Online platforms provide a space for all ethnicities to share their voice, form relationships with others, and advocate for issues important to them.

@BriannaMedeiro8 I believe the future will look similar to where we are now. Virtual opportunities will continue to grow in education and the workplace, but there will always be people who prefer face-to-face communication.
@rhys_school I agree with your prediction because convenience has already started to change our norms. Platforms similar to discord, like Zoom, have encouraged virtual communication in education and work, demonstrating that online interactions can be as strong as face-to-face.
@BrettDCIM I agree! Tesla has already demonstrated society's capabilities and it will be interesting to see how similar ideas evolve in a few years. I believe self-driving trucks could provide some solution to labor shortages, but seem more dangerous because of their length and weight.
I predict that digital technology will impact the future of education. The pandemic has demonstrated ideas mentioned in the article, in which technology can replace in-person communication and rapidly adapt to fit our needs. #DigiTechS22B https://t.co/5FkWGlSqhm
@jyu652 Hi Justin! I think your topic is really cool! It will be interesting to learn how drones would be able to deliver packages and I wonder the benefits to the planet in doing so?
@kwrutgers20 Hi Kayla! I love your topic because it is relevant to our present and future communication styles. I think platforms like Zoom have made us more open to remote opportunities like education and work.
@yaolu77039770 Hi Yao! I think it'll be interesting to explore the different uses of social media throughout your topic. I am also researching social media and am excited to see the different perspectives we will present.
My EDTP project will discuss social media as a digital technology that contributes to poor mental health among users. The unrealistic reality that social media portrays can cause self-deprecation, which will affect aspects of a user's overall well-being. #DigiTechS22B
@kwrutgers20 Hi Kayla! I think the change from in-person to online school has been one of the biggest social changes. I agree that in-person school can be less flexible than online and I think many schools, even companies, are realizing the benefits of virtual communication.
@rhys_school Hi! I agree that the evolution from newspapers to social media platforms is interesting but I think it makes sense with the world we live in. All these platforms are disruptive innovations because they have changed the sources we rely on to stay updated with news.
@yaolu77039770 Hi Yao! E-books are definitely a disruptive technology because people are less likely to visit a bookstore since they can purchase any book online. However, I believe they have also had a positive impact because the convenience of the tech has encouraged more people to read.
I believe that beauty standards have changed with digital media.Conversations surrounding body positivity and self expression are a disruptive change because they create a positive shift in societal norms that now accept everyone as they are.

@DanielleLazaro9 Hi Danielle! Penguin Random House seems like an organization founded on important values. I think its cool that their mission to change the world comes through the publication of books and it would be a great company to be apart of.
@LIDCJuliaV Hi Julia! It's great that you are interested in a company with important values. I think any organization that acknowledges mental health and prioritizes inclusivity is a perfect starting position.
