The event was attended to meet Shinjiro Koizumi, Japan serving Defese Minister & several industrialist also reflected the growing importance of India–Japan relations and highlighted the immense potential for future collaboration.

ನಾನು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ರಾಜರಾಜೇಶ್ವರಿನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಬಾಡಿಗೆ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದೆ. ನನ್ನ ಮನೆಯ ಪಕ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಖಾಲಿ ನಿವೇಶನವಿತ್ತು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ತಾಕಿಕೊಂಡು ಒಂದು ಮಲಯಾಳಿ ಕುಟುಂಬ ವಾಸವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಅದು ಬಹಳ ಸುಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ ಕುಟುಂಬ. ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಜನ. ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ನಮ್ಮದು ಸುಮಧುರವಾದ ಸಂಬಂಧ. ಕೆಲವು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ನಂತರ, ಆ ಮನೆಯ ಮಾಲೀಕರ ಹಿರಿಯ ಮಗ ಜಪಾನ್ ಗೆ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದು, ಬಹಳ ದಿನಗಳ ನಂತರ ನನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಾಯಿತು. ನಂತರ ನಾನು ಆ ಬಾಡಿಗೆ ಮನೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ನನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಮನೆಗ��� ಬಂದೆ. ಅದಾದ ಬಳಿಕ, ನನಗೆ ಅವರ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಕಮ್ಮಿಯಾಯಿತು. ವಾಕಿಂಗ್ ಮಾಡುವಾಗ, ವಾಹನದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಗುವಾಗ ಆಗಾಗ ಆ ಮನೆಯ ಯಜಮಾನರು ಸಿಕ್ಕರೆ, 'ಹಾಯ್, ಬಾಯ್'ಗಷ್ಟೇ ಮಾತುಕತೆ, ಒಡನಾಟ ಸೀಮಿತವಾಗಿತ್ತು.

ಕಳೆದ ವರ್ಷ ನಾನು ಜಪಾನ್ ಗೆ ಹೋಗುವ ಮುನ್ನ, ನಾನು ಬರುವ ವಿಷಯ ಗೊತ್ತಾಗಿ, ಟೋಕಿಯೋದಿಂದ ಒಬ್ಬರು ನನಗೆ ಫೋನ್ ಮಾಡಿದರು - "ಸಾರ್ ನಾನು ಅನಿಲ್ ರಾಜ್. ರಾಜರಾಜೇಶ್ವರಿನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಕ್ಕದಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದವನು..." ಎಂದು ಪರಿಚಯ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಮಾತಿಗಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರು. ನನಗೆ ಹಳೆಯ ಘಟನೆಗ��ನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಅರೆಕ್ಷಣ ಹಿಡಿಯಿತು. ಕಾರಣ ಅವರ ಸಂಪರ್ಕವಿಲ್ಲದೇ ಸುಮಾರು ಹದಿನೈದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ವರ್ಷಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದವು. ನಂತರ ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ಒಂದೊಂದಾಗಿ ನೆನಪಾದವು.

"ನೀವು ಜಪಾನ್ ಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿರುವ ವಿಷಯ ಗೊತ್ತಾಯಿತು. ತಪ್ಪದೇ ನಮ್ಮ ಹೋಟೆಲ್ ಗೆ ಬರಬೇಕು. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ಏನೇ ಬೇಕಾದರೂ ಹೇಳಿ. ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ನೆರವಿಗೆ ಇದ್ದೇನೆ" ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಅಷ್ಟೇ ಅಲ್ಲ, ಜಪಾನ್ ಪ್ರವಾಸಕ್ಕೆ ಅಗತ್ಯ ಸಂಪರ್ಕವನ್ನೂ, ಪೂರ್ವಭಾವಿ ನೆರವನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಟ್ಟರು.

ನಾನು ಟೋಕಿಯೋಕ್ಕೆ ���ೋದಾಗ ಅನಿಲ್ ರಾಜ್ ನನ್ನ ಬರುವಿಕೆಗೆ ಕಾಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರು ಆ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಷ್ಟು ದೊಡ್ಡ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯಾಗಿ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ಸಣ್ಣ ಕಲ್ಪನೆಯೂ ನನಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.

ಕಳೆದ ಎರಡು ದಶಕಗಳಿಗೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಾಲದಿಂದ ಟೋಕಿಯೋದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಸಿರುವ ಅನಿಲ್ ರಾಜ್ ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸಮುದಾಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯಾಗಿ, ಉದ್ಯಮಿಯಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ರಾಯಭಾರಿಯಾಗಿ ಗುರುತಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಒಬ್ಬ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ವಲಸಿಗನಾಗಿ ಜಪಾನ್‌ಗೆ ಹೋದ ಅವರು, ಇಂದು ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ��ಶಸ್ವಿ ಉದ್ಯಮಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬರಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರು ಜಪಾನ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಜನಪ್ರಿಯ ರೆಸ್ಟೋರೆಂಟ್ ಬ್ರ್ಯಾಂಡ್ ಎಂದರೆ 'ನಿರ್ವಾಣಂ'.

2005ರಲ್ಲಿ ಅನಿಲ್ ರಾಜ್ ಅವರು ಟೋಕಿಯೋದ 'ಕಾಮಿಯಾಚೋ' ಎಂಬಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಮೊದಲ ರೆಸ್ಟೋರೆಂಟ್ ಅನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರು. ಅಂದು ಜಪಾನ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಉತ್ತರ ಭಾರತದ ಆಹಾರಗಳು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಲಭ್ಯವಿದ್ದವು, ಆದರೆ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಭಾರತದ ಅಪ್ಪಟ ರುಚಿಯ (ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಮಸಾಲೆ ದೋಸೆ, ಇಡ್ಲಿ, ಆಪಮ್, ನೀರು ದೋಸೆ, ವಡೆ ) ಕೊರತೆಯಿತ್ತು. ಈ ಕೊರತೆಯನ್ನ��� ನೀಗಿಸಲು ಅವರು 'ನಿರ್ವಾಣಂ' ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದರು. ಇಂದು 'ನಿರ್ವಾಣಂ' ಕೇವಲ ಒಂದು ಹೋಟೆಲ್ ಆಗಿ ಉಳಿದಿಲ್ಲ. ಟೋಕಿಯೋ, ಯೊಕೊಹಾಮಾ ಮತ್ತು ಸೈಟಾಮಾ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಜಪಾನ್‌ನ ವಿವಿಧ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ನಗರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ 7ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಶಾಖೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ.

ಜಪಾನ್‌ನ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧ ಫುಡ್ ರಿವ್ಯೂ ವೆಬ್‌ಸೈಟ್ ಆದ 'ಟೇಬೆಲಾಗ್' (Tabelog) ವತಿಯಿಂದ ನಿರ್ವಾಣಂ ರೆಸ್ಟೋರೆಂಟ್ ಸತತ 6 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ "ಜಪಾನ್‌ನ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಭಾರತೀಯ ರೆಸ್ಟೋರೆಂಟ್" ಎಂಬ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಮುಡಿಗೇರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಿಂದ ಅ��ುಗೆಯವರನ್ನು ಕರೆಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಅವರು ಭಾರತದ ಅಪ್ಪಟ ಮಸಾಲೆ ಮತ್ತು ರುಚಿಯನ್ನು ಜಪಾನಿಯರಿಗೆ ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇವಲ ಭಾರತೀಯರು ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ, ಶೇ. 80ರಷ್ಟು ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಜಪಾನಿಯರು ಗ್ರಾಹಕರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ವಾರಾಂತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಮೂಲದ ಜನರು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡುತ್ತಾರೆ.

ಅನಿಲ್ ರಾಜ್ ಅವರು ಐಟಿ ಮೂಲದವರಾಗಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಹೋಟೆಲ್ ಉದ್ಯಮಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ಪೂರ್ವ ಅನುಭವವಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಜಪಾನ್‌ನ ಕಟ್ಟುನಿಟ್ಟಾದ ಪರವಾನಗಿ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆ ಮತ್ತು ಭಾಷೆಯ ಅಡೆತಡೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮೆಟ್ಟಿ ನಿಂತು ಅವರು ಈ ಸಾಮ್ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಹಗಲು ಹೊತ್ತು ಐಟಿ ಉದ್ಯೋಗ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಜೆ ಹೋಟೆಲ್ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಅವರು ಆರಂಭಿಕ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹಳ ಶ್ರಮಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ತಮ್ಮ ಹೋಟೆಲ್‌ಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಅವರು ಜಪಾನ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಆಹಾರ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೇ, ನಮ್ಮ ಆತಿಥ್ಯವನ್ನೂ ಪಸರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. 'ಇಂಡಿಯನ್ ರೆಸ್ಟೋರೆಂಟ್ ಅಸೋಸಿಯೇಷನ್ ಆಫ್ ಜಪಾನ್' ನ ಸಹ-ಸಂಸ್ಥಾಪಕರಾಗಿ ಅವರು ಇತರ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಉ���್ಯಮಿಗಳಿಗೂ ಬೆಂಬಲ ನೀಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಿಂದ ಅಥವಾ ಭಾರತದಿಂದ ಯಾರೇ ಜಪಾನಿನ ರಾಜಧಾನಿಗೆ ಹೋದರೂ, ಅನಿಲ್ ರಾಜ್ ಅವರ ಹೋಟೆಲ್ ತಿಂಡಿಯ ಸವಿಯನ್ನು ಸವಿಯದೇ ಬರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ಮೋದಿಯವರು ಜಪಾನ್ ಗೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿದ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಊಟೋಪಚಾರದ ಹೊಣೆಯನ್ನೂ ಅನಿಲ್ ರಾಜ್ ಅವರೇ ವಹಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದು ವಿಶೇಷ.

ಜಪಾನ್‌ಗೆ ಹೋಗುವ ಭಾರತೀಯರಿಗೆ ಜಪಾನಿ ಭಾಷೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ಶಿಸ್ತಿನ ಜೀವನದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನ ನೀಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಜಪಾನಿನ ಉದ್ಯಮಿಗಳು ಕರ್ನಾ��ಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೂಡಿಕೆ ಮಾಡುವಂತೆ ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸುವ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನೂ ಇವರು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಅನಿಲ್ ರಾಜ್ ಅವರ ಜೀವನ 'ಪರಿಶ್ರಮವಿದ್ದರೆ ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇಕಾದರೂ ಸಾಧಿಸಬಹುದು' ಎಂಬುದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ. ಜಪಾನ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರಿಗೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಎದುರಾದರೂ ಅವರು ತಕ್ಷಣ ಸ್ಪಂದಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅನಿವಾಸಿ ಭಾರತೀಯರ ಶ್ರೇಯೋಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗಾಗಿ ಅವರು ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಶ್ರಮಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅನಿಲ್ ರಾಜ್ ಅವರು ಕೇವಲ ಒಬ್ಬ ಉದ್ಯಮಿ ಅಷ್ಟೇ ಅಲ್ಲ, ಎರಡು ದೇಶಗಳ ನಡುವಿನ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ರಾಯಭಾರಿಯಾ���ಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
