Everything you do from your games socials is marketing. Every interaction. There are too many indie games for everyone to play. All it takes is one bad interaction. If the first time someone sees your game is a bad interaction, there is no reason to not immediately move on.
This type of attitude coming from a game dev is not a good look.
I have always been honest about why I do what I do. I even made a whole video about it last month. Yes, growing Indie Game Joe matters to me. I am not pretending otherwise.
