@CNC_Kitchen@BambulabGlobal when watching I immediately thought they were nice additions. this one in particular was helpful for understanding the damping effect
@MushtaqBilalPhD it has always been my hope that, contrary to popular opinion, these tools will make people better thinkers, writers, problem solvers. because to use them well you must master those skill. I have seen it in myself, for sure. glad I’m not alone
@scaling01 i think you also include rapidly increasing capabilities for tool use and orchestration - harness level improvements that feed the machine. otherwise agree. we also have to ask, what is the abstraction layer above bodies of knowledge? I presume that is cross-disciplinary spaces…
Personal update: I've joined Anthropic. I think the next few years at the frontier of LLMs will be especially formative. I am very excited to join the team here and get back to R&D. I remain deeply passionate about education and plan to resume my work on it in time.
@charliermarsh tokens go brrrrtt
i wonder what token usage will look like in 5 years. it is the new internet bandwidth - the more we get the more we need - but more exponential
@mitsuhiko@hampsonw Armin, is there an equivalent to nvim-kickstart for Pi? I love the tree and the overall responsiveness, etc. but it would be great if a curated minimalist starter kit of additional infrastructure were available for web search, persistent memory, etc.
I found sandisk around 2001 (realized they created / licensed all CF tech)
I first bought BTC on August 8, 2015 for $273.53 each

If you found Nvidia in 2022 you are a millionaire

@antirussia4ever@oprktr that was a hearing joke, son. and good for you shooting 22 without ear pro. no, its not as loud as basically any other round but that doesn’t mean it isn’t loud enough to do damage. get back to me in 40 years. have fun, be safe
@antirussia4ever@oprktr uh, no. 22lr pistol ~150db unsuppressed, not hearing safe. suppressed less than 125. each 6-10db drop = 1/2 loud, so 8-16 times quieter. short barrel 22lr don’t usually go supersonic, so no crack! the mechanical action is often louder than the report. sounds like a staple gun 🤭
