Anukriti is the strongest person I've ever known. Can't wait for her art to be showcased in this gallery, & for the world to get to learn from her!
Chikoo & I are so proud! Thank you to @DTH_Lab for putting together this project to shine a light on the challenges of being online
Anukriti's artwork The Tree That Never Slept is among top three winners featured in #BeingOnline.
What was her story.?

#May28, we declare: SRHRJ is #EssentialNotOptional! Amidst polycrisis (climate, economic, political), we demand governments strengthen health systems to uphold ALL women's health rights, including reproductive justice & non-discriminatory care. #SRHRJ#AmplifyRuralCommunities
🚨 As global backlash against sexual and reproductive health rights grows, activists are mobilising — from grassroots movements to @UN accountability mechanisms — to defend women’s autonomy and dignity worldwide.

India’s National Health Policy 2017 called on states to spend 8% of their budgets on healthcare by 2022. In 2023-24, only 3 states/UTs–Delhi (12.4%), Puducherry (9%) & Meghalaya (8.3%)–spent more. Punjab spent least (2.9%),per @RBI report on state finances https://t.co/eyC81WYr6V

BJP has promised to support more trans shelter homes in its 2024 manifesto. But in 2022, BJP abruptly blocked funds to existing shelters, risking lives of many trans persons residing there. Some shelters were at the brink of closure. There is nothing else in the manifesto for us.
Uttarakhand UCC proves just why there's scepticism of such projects. In principle, a UCC should be good: simplifying laws on marriage & succession, ensuring equal treatment.
But what you'll get is nonsense like registering live-ins, communal rhetoric, and LGBTQ+ exclusion.
#LiveInRelationships: The newly introduced Uniform Civil Code Bill in the Uttarakhand Assembly makes it compulsory for “live-in relationships” to be registered within a period of 1 month from the “date of entering into the relationship”.
Fail to do so and you maybe sent to jail for 3 months.
The State is now inside your bedrooms, requiring you to “register” who you love, where you love, when you started loving, when the love ended. This is moral policing given state sanction.
Aside from this, how exactly can the state/police practically enforce this law? What if you live-in but are not in a relationship? Or there are frequent break-ups and patch-ups? Or if you are in a situation-ship? What about same-sex couples? In a system that is so marred by widespread perjury, how exactly will an already overburdened criminal justice system seek the truth here?
This criminalisation of personal relationships will only feed vigilantes and fringe elements. Besides, it will bring further chaos and instability for vulnerable couples in non-Tier I cities. Whoever has made this bill was clearly driven by regressive ideological concerns rather than practical realities. Congratulations to the people of Dev bhoomi.
There’s lots to light up about this #WorldAIDSDay! Thank you @U2 and @SphereVegas for celebrating the incredible people and (RED) partners who have helped save tens of millions of lives in the fight against AIDS.
Mira Nair’s Monsoon Wedding released on this day in 2001.
Apart from a few established names, the cast includes many brilliant actors that were hardly known at the time.

Dr Sunita of Chandigarh’s Government Multi Speciality Hospital, Sector 16 has been spreading homophobia, and threatening gay men who visit her for STD/STI testing. We have filed a case with @SACSChandigarh & @NACOINDIA who are associated with the Suraksha Clinic OPD at GMSH16.
The #ClimateCrisis is not gender-neutral.
The impact of #ClimateChange has been proven to:
🩸 Reduce access to #SRHR products and services
⚠️ Increase gender-based violence
👧 Put more girls at risk of child marriage
We need gender-just #ClimateAction now!
Thank you @varungrover for being such a patient amazing person to hear her out! (I don’t believe in censoring, but I realise for my grandma it meant a lot to just express and voice her opinion to him)
Here’s a photo of it happening and now it’s a core memory for me till I die!
The 🌎aligned in such a way that on my birthday I went for my 1st @varungrover stand up show in Delhi!
&… my feminist retired DU professor grandma was with us, at the end of the show she decided to let @varungrover know that she loves his set but doesn’t like “gendered gaalis”
