Started a roofing company in 2024. Multifamily GP with 1,400 units in Houston. Finance before that (HFs - investing). MBA, CFA, CPM (IREM). EO NYC. Harvard OPM.
@Pappy_BigTenCFB We are not talking commercial - residential is completely different. It just is. And I have very good visibility what large residential roofers are doing.
@Pappy_BigTenCFB I think you might be misinformed. $200mm home services companies all buy leads. Sales people need leads - relying on self lead generation by sales reps is naive.
@kevinasrx I would never even consider having my website build on someone else’s GHL - all around bad idea. But I suppose people who go for it didn’t have enough sense to even have a website in the first place
My assistant sends me messages like this every day. Part of me wants to coach and say that no boss wants to hear “my brain was very slow” and another part feels it is a lost cause and I just embrace it until I find someone I want to invest it - don’t have time to replace right now. Just unimpressive. And he also wants a raise.
Going 2 hours away to my Airbnb HOA - board hearing of my appeal. They charged me $5,000 fine for some BS administrative reason and I have to go fight it. That’s how I want to spend my Saturday! NOT.
My VA who’s been with us since September is asking for a raise. Too early, right? He’s above market for his role and he’s average. Not bad not great. Thoughts?
We were ADDing last year and having a shining object syndrome and bought into a roof rejuvenation dealership. Then we changed our mind - but what do I do with a brand new trailer and a spray rig sitting in a parking lot? 😅 I feel stupid just looking at it.
The sub who was going to do the install today just called and said that he was sick today and will start tomorrow. I’m mad because I know 100% he’s lying (he’s going to another job instead) and makes us look as doofuses in front of a homeowner. But par for the course I guess. Will start interviewing new subs ASAP. Not easy to find reliable ones.
I dropped out of all by one networking groups this year and I don’t schedule lunches/breakfasts anymore unless there’s potential direct benefit to my business. So, like once in 2 months now. Productivity is increasing. Still feel like I’m doing 25 things at the same time though. When will this start up stage end?
