Till 2020, official communications from Tamil Nadu to the Centre addressed it as the Central Government (Madhiya Arasu).

The DMK government changed this to Union Government (Ondriya Arasu) after assuming power in 2021.

Today, I saw the Chief Minister’s communication addressing the Centre as the Indian Government.

I believe this is also inappropriate. India is the country, and Tamil Nadu is one of its states.
Why should we use the term “Indian Government” as if referring to a foreign nation?

“Central Government” is clear, appropriate, and sufficient. Though Tamil Nadu has adopted “Union Government,” I have always used only “Central Government.” It is best for our state to stick with this established terminology.
