It was a full house at our Mother’s Day and parent volunteer brunch. They brought delicious food, organized games, and sang songs! We ❤️ community!

Five Arcola students were chosen to attend @mcpdced’s Shop with a Cop at the Wheaton Target this morning. Students were given a $100 gift card to purchase holiday gifts. We are so grateful for Officers Beard, Brown, and Enendu for selecting Arcola students as recipients.

This morning Ms Gonzalez and @ArcolaWellnes hosted our parent coffee where we celebrated our families. Thank you to @MoCoDHHS for coming to speak to our parents about the free upcoming dental program for all 2nd & 3rd graders.

Last night we served food from @foodbankmetrodc to feed 188 families and 911 family members. Now our families will have food in time for the holidays! Thanks to my alma mater @BullisSchool for sending students to help distribute food too!

It warms my heart that our community partners make sure our student have a winter coat, hats and gloves. These kids have been grinning from ear to ear. We’ve distributed over 80 coats so far! One student was so excited bc he’s never had a hat before.

During our steering committee meeting this morning, we quickly summarized our last meeting and spent time looking at our community school budget. We brainstormed lots of exciting ways that we can support attendance, family engagement and academic success.

Our parent volunteers are always willing to lend a hand. We received complimentary water bottles for our students from @SNAPEd_MoCo so our student can stay hydrated at school. Parents counted them out and delivered them to classrooms. #ThankfulForVolunteers

The parents in our adult ESOL class planned a surprise birthday party for me today! I really love our community and am so lucky to play a small part in their experience at Arcola. Our community is incredible and so generous. Thank you! 😍

The boys and girls are learning about empathy and are working on a project to create letters for children in the hospital in El Salvador. Great work by these kids, by creating a community of change we can achieve great things. @ArcolaES_CSL @eemajor @blessings4 @CSMCPS_Leader

Making sure our students are nourished so they can succeed academically. Tonight we served 217 families (1,067 family members) food from @foodbankmetrodc. Shout out to my CSL team and high school volunteers for making this possible!
