I'm honored to have been invited to participate as an Expert for the Global Commission on Responsible AI in the Military Domain. I look forward to working with the amazing group of commissioners and experts who have come together for this. @GCREAIM

This image was a big inspiration for us @globalshieldhq - the vulnerability we face as humanity and the need to protect ourselves. Our name and our mission might be ambitious, but ambition, hope and courage is what this moment calls for.
I'm really proud to announce that I've launched a new organization, Global Shield, with my co-founders @ArielConn and Jared Brown. We advocate for government policy on global catastrophic risk. The risk is only growing, so Global Shield is about getting government to act.

Apparently, @Mintmobile thinks it's fine to leave their customers stranded in foreign countries without cell service. Their website says I can add as much international coverage as I want, but what they mean is $60, which didn't even last 4 days of minimal usage.
Today is the last day of our survey for “The ethical and technical challenges of the development, use and governance of autonomous weapons systems.” If you wanted to fill it out but couldn't meet the deadline, message me.

@M__Verbruggen I'm so sorry to see your tweet. It just appeared in my timeline, so I don't know what you've been going through, but I had long covid for nearly two years, and it was awful to feel like I couldn't keep up. I'd love to chat if you're up for it one of these days.
Automation bias - the human tendency to place too much trust in machines - has already led to serious accidents. In the @IEEESpectrum, @ArielConn highlights how human psychology might limit our ability to prevent autonomous weapons from malfunctioning. https://t.co/iQOIl7RaDY
Now, and really any point in the last few months, seems like a good time to remind everyone that if you're worried about #nuclearweapons there are a lot of orgs doing great work to reduce the risk they'll be used. And there are a lot of ways you can help!
