Dear Iranians,

It has happened now.

The European Union has added the IRGC to its terrorist list.

This marks a historic step.

This decision is more than symbolic as terrorist designation carries concrete legal consequences.

It is a clear demonstration of how hard work pays off.

This happened because we kept pushing publicly and relentlessly until denial was no longer possible.

Even though this took an unforgivably long time, required mass suffering from the brave Iranians, blood on the streets, and undeniable brutality, it is now a first step towards free and secular Iran.

The lesson of this is that never stop pushing, never soften the truth and never let moral clarity be negotiated away.

History will remember freedom fighters.

Dr. Babak (Hossein) Zarabian, an infectious disease specialist in Isfahan, was arrested on Tuesday, January 13, after security forces raided his home solely for providing medical care to people injured by state forces.

He had also treated victims of violent crackdowns during the 2022 protests. During the January 13th raid, his home was damaged and personal belongings, including his computer, were confiscated.

Today I was granted another chance to speak in the podium of the European Parliament.

I wanted to use this opportunity to speak on behalf of the brave iranians, who live under the internet shut down at the moment.

I wanted to make the Members of European Parliament to imagine what the people in Iran are going through right now.

They risk their lives for a better future - because they know that this might be the best chance they will get in their lifetime.
