for a long time i said that antisemitism, particularly on the american left, was not as bad as people claimed.
i'd like to just state that i was totally wrong.
i still don't understand it, really. or know what to do about it.
but it is so fucked.
Just finished listening to the 2.5 hour convo on Rogan with David Grusch. I have to say I find it hard to take him seriously.
At the end Joe thanks him for his service to the country, and Grusch waxes poetic about how he just wants to let Americans know what is actually going on. And what is that?
Grusch explains that the government has dead reptilian aliens that soldiers shot dead, after the reptilians killed a number of US soldiers. This was part of the war on Earth between the grays and the reptilians that, again, the military is involved in. There’s a UFO so huge that it can’t be moved so the government built a giant building around it. There’s an underwater structure the size of many city blocks in an ocean somewhere that houses more aliens who are monitoring us.
And on and on with lots of references to Star Trek and multiple Hollywood SciFi films, which to my ears is exactly what all this sounds like. Grusch tells a fantastic story that if true would be beyond belief, but then when Joe asks him for details Grusch clams up, even claiming that people in our government have threatened his life (after explaining that he uncovered a child trafficking operation in the government).
Question: if David Grusch is really afraid for his life why is he telling millions of people all these stories (but when asked for evidence goes silent)?
I’m sorry, but my skeptical alarms go off when I listen to Grusch. It is very difficult to believe. I know many of you on X seem to hold him in high regard so what am I missing?
Even he told Joe “I know this all sounds completely crazy.” Yup.
Introducing Griffin, the first model to pass the video Turing test.
48% of people who talked to it live thought it was a real human. Previous systems have had a pass rate <3%. It is #1 on NVIDIA's benchmark for full-duplex AI video.
It’s the first Human Interaction Model (HIM).
Sam Altman on the Andrew Garfield OpenAI movie:
“Looks like an awful movie.”
Awful or not, I still don’t get why they’re making a Sam Altman movie this early.
Maybe the AI hype + his name being everywhere = easy box office bet.
Curious how much it actually makes.
@Spectromachina@eryney_ok Tell your AI to do a 6 year long clinical trial first and get the data. Knowing biology and doing biology is two different thing lol
Even as a Big Pro AI person, I would say this is very small bioinfo analysis of some sequence to find the tandem repeats. This is at best a Master's student thesis.
biologists, is this interesting? my shallow understanding based on "we don't know yet what it does" is "meh" but would like actual biologists to chime in.
Ana Kasparian tells Nate Soares: "you are so far the only person I've heard explain how this all works that makes me feel confident in being a little worried"
Here are some vibe predictions of what I expect to happen in AI.
Within 6 months: computer use big moment, office workers start adopting agentic AI in masse
Within 12 months: we learn of communities consistent of thousands of autonomous agents interacting through the internet
By end of 2027: AI revenues somewhere between $0.5-1 trillion
By mid 2028: all millennium problems solved, AI is being used for all STEM work as much as today in math, breakthrough scientific advances in other domains
By end of decade: robots aplenty, they work with precision, they are in the tens of millions and we are ramping up capacity to build more, fast. Job displacement is huge, AI is a huge political topic
By 2035: AI reaches cognitive parity with humans in all domains, pro AI rights movements are picking up, economy is moving faster than >10%/year growth
By 2040: there are >10x more general purpose robots than humans, economic growth is >30% year (10x faster than today)
