🚀India deserves its own open source radiology and medical foundation models, evaluated on Indian data and built by Indian teams. We are hiring clinicians, engineers and researchers to make that happen. 🇮🇳 Please repost to help us reach to the right candidates!
✅At @KCDH_A (Koita Centre for Digital Health at Ashoka University) @AshokaUniv and CRASH Lab, we often get asked whether we are training the next generation of scientists, physicians, and engineers for the healthcare AI boom that is coming, and the debate usually ends with the same conclusion: that AI will create many more jobs but those jobs will demand a different set of skills to use, build and evaluate AI. If we are being honest, we have not been doing enough on this front, which is exactly what we are changing today.
🔥We are expanding our team and opening positions across research, engineering, and clinical roles, all sitting within fully funded projects of national and international scale, where we build India's own open source healthcare foundational models, run large-scale national evaluations, and create the benchmarks for foundational models and agentic workflows that are actually relevant to the Indian setup.
🚨We are hiring Senior Research Fellows, Clinical Evaluation Leads, and AI Evaluation Engineers, and we are grateful to our supporters and collaborators, including @IndiaDST, @gatesfoundation, @FoundationKoita, @NUSingapore, @MSFTResearch, @AarthiScans etc. who are part of this effort!
👇🏽We will be rolling out interviews starting next week, so please apply as soon as you can, because we will be closing positions as suitable candidates come through and all the roles get filled!
🇮🇳This is a chance to be in India and build for India, learning from some of the best people and teams who have built a few of the finest models and evaluation frameworks anywhere, and because it is an academic role, it gives you the experience and exposure to cutting-edge AI research and development from teams who have published across @ScienceMagazine, @Nature, @TheLancet, @NEJM_AI, etc. and hopefully, together, we get to spearhead the healthcare transformation journey for the country!

@DoctorAniBhat I'm sad to see that you don't realise very much about what's happening here. I understand your "course and stipend" theory but what I get and my colleagues (JRs) get is a salary slip from our institute (I'm sure there are many other institutes with the same).
The AIIMS RDA will continue their indefinite strike, including the suspension of academic activities, elective OPDs, ward services, and OT services.
However, emergency services, ICUs and emergency OT will remain operational.
Medical science and scientists are so cool.
The discovery of antibiotics has been one of humanity’s most profound achievements, dramatically increasing life expectancy worldwide.
Yet, these once-reliable allies have turned against us due to irrational use, repeated necessity, and combination therapies. This misuse has spurred the rise of multi-drug and extremely drug-resistant bacteria, posing a deadly global threat.
Broad-spectrum antibiotics, in their quest to eradicate infections, often decimate the beneficial bacterial microbiome, allowing dangerous strains to flourish.
In a groundbreaking study, scientists from the Department of Chemistry at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign have unveiled a novel antibiotic named lolamicin.
This innovative treatment selectively targets harmful bacteria, preserving the beneficial commensal bacteria and preventing secondary infections, thus offering a beacon of hope in our ongoing battle against antibiotic resistance.
Fantastic news and a path-breaking discovery: https://t.co/UdEWLRZnMU
@nullbay_ It's a highly research oriented branch and in AIIMS, you get to have good guides to mentor students and give a good hands-on experience in various cutting edge technologies.
Scope of doesn't widen easily with an MD despite being equivalent to PhD on paper.
@nullbay_ So, most probably you'll have to do a PhD in your area of interest to focus more on the same.
Then, the scope ranges from research institutions to industries.
Today, my heart is filled with joy as my prayer has been answered
Witnessing Patient’s attendants sitting/sleeping on the floor during my ICU duties used to upset me deeply. I use to pray to GOD for improvement, & now, it's happening.
Grateful for this positive turn at #AIIMS
