Subject: Complaint requesting investigation into alleged illegal online lottery and gambling activities near Laram Shopping Centre, Andheri West

Respected Sir/Madam,

I am writing to bring to your attention information regarding alleged illegal online lottery and gambling activities reportedly being conducted near Laram Shopping Centre, opposite/near Andheri West Railway Station, Mumbai.

The location is reportedly situated very close to the D.N. Nagar Beat Chowky and falls under the jurisdiction of D.N. Nagar Police Station.

As per information received from local sources, police had reportedly conducted a raid/action at the same location approximately one month ago in connection with alleged gambling/online lottery activities. However, it is alleged that similar activities have once again resumed at the location despite the earlier police action.

I have also received information alleging that persons known as Shankar alias Nana and his son Piyush are involved in operating the said activity. I would like to make it clear that I am not making a conclusive allegation against any individual and request the police authorities to independently verify these claims through an appropriate inquiry.

Furthermore, information has been received that similar alleged illegal activities may be operating at approximately three different locations within the jurisdiction of D.N. Nagar Police Station. I request the concerned authorities to verify this information as well.

In view of the above, I respectfully request the Mumbai Police Commissioner, concerned DCP and Senior Police Inspector, D.N. Nagar Police Station to:

1. Conduct an immediate inquiry/inspection of the location near Laram Shopping Centre, Andheri West.
2. Verify whether any illegal online lottery, gambling or other unlawful activities are being conducted at the said premises.
3. Verify the information regarding the persons allegedly operating the activity and take action only if the allegations are established through investigation.
4. Verify the information regarding similar activities allegedly operating at other locations within the D.N. Nagar Police Station jurisdiction.
5. Take appropriate legal action in accordance with applicable law if any offence or illegal activity is found.
6. Kindly ensure that the matter is properly investigated and that appropriate preventive measures are taken to prevent such activities from restarting.

I am submitting this complaint in the public interest and request that the information provided above be verified through proper police inquiry. I am also willing to provide any further information, material or details available with me that may assist the authorities in their investigation.

I request your office to kindly acknowledge this complaint and take appropriate action as per law.

This is completely unacceptable and dangerous. A speed breaker has been installed in the wrong direction/position and bike riders are already slipping and falling while crossing it, particularly on the wet road.

How many accidents need to happen before this is corrected?
