Deepseek chaos impacts Wall Street. Here’s my thoughts, which may be controversial. Deepseek is great for competition, it’ll keep competition on their toes and deter price gouging.
Public data is a great use case.
But…over my dead body I feed it corporate or personal data👇
And I’d be remiss if I didn’t say, whomever builds a model that runs on private data in corporate/personal owned data storage, will unlock an enterprise gold rush.
Get smart, and secure your AI value chain ⛓️💥
Ps: remember TikTok… it knows you, better than you know you 👇
For those who don’t realize, the whole AI game is about ownership of data. Your data is the gold.
Whether we are looking at hyperscalers or sovereign cloud providers. A lower price is often a compromise on your privacy. 👇
Q2-24 is in the books and Cybersecurity Quota Attainment continues to push lower - clocked in at 36.44% in Q2 - the lowest of any sub-industry since Q1-22
Not only is Quota Attainment in this vertical abysmal - but Lead Flow sentiment is the lowest among the the other 8 verticals
What's making it particularly difficult in Cybersecurity land?
10 years ago I started a bootstrapped startup studio.
Since then...
• I've had products fail + companies acquired
• Delegated everything so I no longer have a daily role
• Generated millions in annual profits
Here's a breakdown of all my businesses and how they got started:

Diary Of An Entrepreneur Series continued...
Day 25:
- it was my turn to be in the hot seat on our monthly @HamptonFounders cohort call today and it was 🔥
- @dwilliamriggs and @foreplayzach dropped some 💣 insights on how to think about positioning and cross-selling between @heybackbone and @longplaybrands
- the most demoralizing reminder from the call was that 80% of my time should probably be in getting on demo, sales & discovery calls for Backbone and just talk to as many customers as possible
- as an introvert who started an agency & thought a SAAS business would let me have less calls... this was an unwelcome but extremely true insight 😅
- I say this often but I couldn't imagine my entrepeneurship journey without masterminds. I built the beginning of @longplaybrands by going to a single $10K 5-day entrepeneur mastermind & left with 7 clients that became the foundations of the business.
- Whenever I have any business challenge or question, my first move is to text someone who might know the answer or can make an intro. I've probably shortcutted 10+ years of mistakes just from asking people.
- had a wonderful "how are you as a human?"-focused call with @RachylNeidecker. Working with cool people you actually like is the greatest life hack. Highly recommend 💗🥰
- Had an awesome discovery call that started with a need for email marketing services that ended with business consulting. I love watching these types of calls transform - it's almost like a form of entrepeneur therapy
💡Day 25 Takeaways:
- As leaders, your mindset is often WAY more impactful than your tangible work. Sometimes the most productive calls are not your most "productive" calls
- Your job on discovery sales calls is not just to discover their needs but guide THEM to discover their own needs
