Primary care physicians need more familiarity with ICHD-3 classification system and training on initiating prophylactic therapy in migraine. Use of analgesics, supplements striking. More infor on the primary care headache scenario on our article

🧵 Focused Update: Inflammation in Intracranial Aneurysms in #Stroke 🎈 Pathogen pattern recognition receptors activated by PAMPs and DAMPs drive inflammatory responses that contribute to aneurysm formation, progression, and rupture, as well as brain injury after aSAH.
#STROKE: In a multicenter cohort of patients with acute mild basilar artery occlusion (NIHSS<10), EVT was linked to better 90-day functional independence vs. BMT, but carried a higher risk of symptomatic ICH, with no mortality difference. #AHAJournals https://t.co/hVB6MhDsOn
Among patients with multiple sclerosis treated long-term with ocrelizumab, interstitial lung disease developed after a mean of 10.5 years, mainly as organizing pneumonia with variable outcomes; prompt recognition and corticosteroid treatment are important. https://t.co/fqeJphg1X6
Stroke research is probably one of the most crucial fields evolving with the concept of pragmatic trials. Happy to be a part of the research with Ayo, Prof Sajobi , @bijoymenon and team from @DCNSNeuro

There are many excellent radiology resources to help with NPH imaging. @teachplaygrub has done several threads, and this @Radiopaedia article is another resource I frequently reference.

NORMAL PRESSURE HYDROCEPHALUS
NPH is one of the more controversial diagnoses in neurology. Depending on who you ask, it’s vastly overdiagnosed, underdiagnosed, or even nonexistent. Here’s a thread on diagnosis, imaging, and management.
He hasn’t talked to me ever since and we just went with that design as it was approved keeping in mind his services that we were retaining.
Mediocrity is the new brilliant.
On hindsight @AbhinavAgarwal sir, if Godrej is paying such guys to stay afloat, why shld I be whining ?
Ditto when I confronted a software designer for his logo design 4 @ictrims2024 I was helping organizing.
The brain on the logo was literally the 1st image tht came up on searching brain on Shutterstock.
He told me it takes effort to even copy paste from the net. 🙏
On top is Godrej's old logo.
Since 1897.
Recognized across India.
At the bottom is the new, redesigned logo, designed by Disco, Godrej’s in-house design studio.
The second image is the logo for Guerrilla Holdings, an Australian company.
If incompetence ever needed a logo.

After nearly 14 years as a student of neurosciences (PhD → residency → fellowship → faculty), I found myself wondering why I’d never thought/read beyond alpha-synuclein. What about beta and gamma; do they even exist (they should!)?
So, on a random Sunday afternoon (while preparing slides for a talk), curiosity got the better of me. Turns out they not only exist but also have meaningful clinical relevance: β-synuclein may be a marker of cognitive impairment, while γ-synuclein was first identified as a breast cancer–associated gene (may be a marker of some aggressive tumors)!
[Nice editorial on 👇Beta-synuclein as a biomarker of neurodegenerative dementia. Link to the original study: https://t.co/ZaVwMqEqxB]
It’s strange that we ask trainees to read clinical trials but never really teach them how to read clinical trials.
I’d request all training program directors and mentors to please share this article to their trainees and fellows- https://t.co/HJhZlsAS4u
Grateful to @JCOOP_ASCO for making this free.
@AlJerdi@NEJM@neurointensivos We institute this all the time. IV metoprolol cannot reduce blood pressures in a chunk of cases and simultaneous administration of other antihypertensives has always come to the rescue.
So amazing now because of a trial people will start talking about it !
Technically this is common practice in India.
But it’s amazing to see this conducted and published as a successful trial for neurologists to accept it.
Among survivors of intracerebral hemorrhage, a single pill with three low-dose antihypertensive agents added to standard care was associated with a lower incidence of stroke and major cardiovascular events than placebo. Full TRIDENT trial results: https://t.co/0tiij1H7tb
