Why is understanding global health solidarity so important?🤔
Understanding global health solidarity is essential because it has historically driven meaningful social and global change.
However, current definitions are often vague, overly broad, and lack clear guidance for action. There are also significant differences in how solidarity is understood, particularly between actors in the Global North and others, which affects its implementation.
In simple terms, global health solidarity is the driving force that ensures the long-term effectiveness of global health strategies in diverse communities worldwide. It promotes equitable healthcare, strengthens resilience, and promotes well-being for all.

There are often calls for solidarity during global health emergencies, but we lack the necessary tools to measure how or if this solidarity is being enacted.
