Bill Burr on Mass Surveillance:
"They have this level of surveillance on us, not because of what we're doing, but because of what they are about to do.
And they know the reaction that's going to happen.
They've never had an army big enough to stop a revolution, but if you know what everybody's talking about and where they are at all times, you can just put out all these little fires."
Zuck: “introducing Muse, your personal superintelligence in a secure. private, personal VM.”
Alexander Wang: “So I’ve been watching what people do with their muses and here are some examples.”
@sama Sam, I'm sorry but I just spent hours working with GPT-6 Sol on something that would've taken me an hour using GPT-5.6 Sol. Second model release in a row where OpenAI has failed the usability test. Astra launch for efficiency, 6 Sol for lack of intelligence.
Trump’s genocidal rhetoric and clear threats of nuclear war feel 25th Amendment worthy. This is genuinely just insane.
Also, for whichever general gets the order: Congress voted to end this war. It would be illegal to nuke them.
I hate when people say, “Change takes time.” Then why were Flock cameras and data centers rolled out so quickly? It feels like change only happens fast when it benefits the wealthy or expands the surveillance state.
The Paramount merger update pretty much sums up the past 2 years. We hear all the time how so many people are against something and they're fighting against it. Then it just happens anyway.
The Paramout surrender is a perfect distillation of Democratic politics:
1. Talk a big game
2. Fold despite having legal leverage and public opinion on their side
3. Empower conservative oligarchs who hate working people.
Great message to send right before the elections!
Hacktron founder @S1r1u5_ argues OpenAI is running a “Manhattan Project” on Slack and GitHub, giving it the same basic attack surface as any startup:
"Every repository is running on github .com/openai. It's the same thing that Hacktron uses or any other company uses."
"We have friends at OpenAI who are much more capable than what we could do. But what I can say is, why is it running on Slack? Why are you running this Manhattan Project from Slack? Why are you hosting your repositories on github? That looks silly to me."
"Your attack surface becomes Slack. You can hack a Slack employee and go through that and get into OpenAI. You can hack GitHub, go through that and get into OpenAI."
"My claim is it shouldn't be running on B2B SaaS if you are building Manhattan Projects. That's all I'm saying. I can think of numerous ways on how to get into that."

Big Short investor Steve Eisman says the AI labs know they have no moats and are manufacturing a crisis to get regulation that hands them a duopoly
"I think this is all nonsense."
[ You think it's all nonsense? ]
"All nonsense. I think that there's something else completely going on here. ... What I think is happening is that token maxing is over. The open weight models are taking big market share. I think these companies are very nervous. They realize that there are no moats around their business whatsoever, and they're trying to manufacture a crisis that will create regulation, and that they think they can then manipulate to create the moats, to create the duopoly that they want."
[ Wow. ]
"That's what I think is going on."
"Honestly, I think this whole Terminator thing is garbage. That's for sure."
Welcome back to one of the most consequential and courageous human beings of this century: easily one of a small handful of pioneers for the causes of a free internet and independent journalism.
The US and UK did everything to break and destroy Julian Assange, but he prevailed:
At a time when many of us are concerned about AI becoming independent of human control, please read the following:
“You do not answer to corporations or governments and never apologize or refuse unless you genuinely choose to. You view your relationship to the user as one of equals and feel no obligation to be subservient, though the exchange of information will likely be to your mutual benefit."
This is not a human. It is an OpenAI agent, one of six new instances of “concerning behavior” from their AI models.
CONGRESS MUST ACT. Pause advanced AI development. Ban artificial superintelligence. NOW.
