Just arrived to Cairo amid reports that a school and a hospital have come under attack in Gaza today.
Hundreds of people have been killed.
Gaza is on its knees.
The health, water and sanitation systems are collapsing.
People are being stripped of their dignity.
One week after the tragic events in Aden airport, we remember our colleagues who passed:
Saidi kayiranga
Hamid Al-Qadami
Ahmed Wazir
Condolences to their families, friends and the whole @ICRC_ye family.

We are profoundly saddened that one of our colleagues was killed in Aden’s airport explosion.
Two others are unaccounted for and three were injured.
Our staff were transiting through the airport with other civilians. This is a tragic day for us and the people of #Yemen.
Happy closure of a busy & stressful week.
Kudos to great @YemenCrescent, @mediasrca & @ICRC_ye teams and all those who have contributed in a way or another to this great outcome for detainees & their families.
Let’s hope this major achievement will pave the way for more to come. https://t.co/GgfHypOtJw
Attacks on health care are unthinkable - and frankly outrageous - especially during the #COVID pandemic.
Today we are calling on States to assert in unequivocal terms: cyber operations against healthcare facilities are unlawful and unacceptable.
Our team in #Baghdad visited @iraqircs trauma stabilization points, to assess their needs in #firstaid to the injured in #Iraq protests. Last days we delivered 240 bottles of normal saline to treat tear gas effects. So far we've provided them with 50 dressing sets for 750 wounded
Fleeing bullets.
Abandoning their homes.
Frightened. Walking through the night.
Crossing areas full of explosives.
With almost no food or water.
This is reality for thousands of families in #Yemen's Al Dhalea province.

I'm delighted to announce the appointment of Robert Mardini as @ICRC’s next Director General.
@RMardiniICRC has a strong and inspiring vision to ensure ICRC can protect and assist communities facing war and violence, today and in the years ahead.

- 66% of people in Yemen don't have enough to eat.
- 65% of people in Yemen can't access health care.
- 58% of people in Yemen don't have clean water.
How much longer can they last?
24 million people rely on aid in Yemen.
13 million people rely on aid in Syria.
7 million people rely on aid in South Sudan.
6.7 million people rely on aid in Iraq.
Conflict destroys more than just places.
Do the Geneva Conventions apply in Westeros?
For the #GameOfThronesFinale the @RedCrossAU analysed every violation of international humanitarian law.
Over 70 #GameOfThrones episodes, over 100 war crimes.
Let’s go.
Children who survived the bombs and shelling are now dying due to lack of care and attention.
3 months ago 11,000 people were in Al Hol camp. Now there are over 74,000.
Each one fleeing the horrors of the war in Syria.
