Hi everyone,
I’m Ayomide Odedeyi. I am documenting my journey into Cybersecurity and Cloud Security. I am also interested in DevSecOps, AI Security, Offensive and Defensive Security.
If you’re learning or into cybersecurity or tech as a whole, I would love to connect with you.
for anyone chasing cloud security certs, not all of them move the needle.
here are 5 certifications that people overrate for cloud roles, they’re not the signal you think nor where to focus if you’re starting out.
Save this if you’re mapping your learning path. #CloudSecurity #CyberSecurity #CareerTips
Let's talk about the password problem
Using the same password for everything is like using one key for your house, car, and office. If someone gets that one key, they get access to everything.
Use a unique password for every account and store them in a trusted password manager.
🚧 Project Update: Distributed Pentesting Lab - Phase 5 (Exploitation)
I’ve continued working through the exploitation phase of my lab, focusing now on OWASP Juice Shop after gaining initial access on Metasploitable2.
Here’s what I’ve accomplished so far using burp suite:
Authentication Bypass:
Successfully gained admin-level access by manipulating application behavior during login.
IDOR (Insecure Direct Object Reference):
Accessed another user’s basket (cart) by modifying request parameters, confirming lack of proper authorization checks.
Sensitive File Exposure:
Discovered a publicly accessible /ftp directory exposing internal files, including backups and potential credential storage artifacts.
Access Control Testing:
Attempted multiple file access bypass techniques (extension tricks, encoding, traversal, etc.).
While bypass was unsuccessful, this validated that server-side filtering is enforced, an important finding on its own.
Lessons learnt:
Exploitation is about breaking a system to:
Understanding the system's behavior
Validate security controls
Documenting both weaknesses and protections
Next, I’ll continue exploring deeper exploitation paths within Juice Shop before wrapping up this phase.
I’ve been documenting everything as I go, looking forward to sharing the full breakdown soon.
