@larachisholmgo1 I agree, for hundreds of years stories have been re-told. Who doesn't love a good story! This will certainly be our team's focus when creating our 'call to action'.
#OUB329 Wk17: When promoting a positive social change, re-framing a discourse is important. This week I have learned that storytelling in leadership helps to mobilise people into action. Leadership for social change will be used in our #B329LeadershipChallenge! #UKChildPoverty
#OUB329 Wk16: Communications technology offers opportunities to practice powerful forms of activist leadership, as messages can be disseminated easily and accessed by many. This week, I have seen how precarious workers have formed relationships to create powerful infrastructures.
#OUB329 Wk15: When faced with resistance a leader should try to understand why, by listening to followers. I have learned that resistance can be shown in many ways from overt to covert and recognise that I have shown resistance by using humour and time wasting.
@Debi131003 I found the tutorial informative too. Now keen to put everything this module has taught into practice. Good luck with the challenge everyone!
#OUB329 Wk14: When approaching a leadership challenge, the three-step process of identify, prioritise and categorise should be considered. As our team begin to collaborate on a wicked challenge, I have learned place-based leadership is when you work together geographically.
@JLSB329@B329Leadership @JeanGamester This has encouraged me to look at the limitations of collaboration and how understanding the aims of others is important for leadership. ๐งโ๐
#OUB329 Wk12: In leadership, caution should be exercised so as not to take an overly expectant view of achievements in an uncertain environment. This week I have learned that although collaboration is focused on achieving good outcomes for all, it should not be expected.
@EmmaMcWilliam4 I was surprised to learn that positive outcomes can come from provoking conflict as a leader too. I now need to find the courage to have a go. ๐
#OUB329 Wk11: The different perspectives and opinions of others can only be known when conflict is provoked. This week I was interested to learn how valuable provoking conflict can be and that I must develop my listening skills if I want to be a successful leader.
@JancisB329@Allanmooney This week's activities have highlighted that my decisions are influenced greatly by others. However, I agree we must consider both reason and logic too.
#OUB329 Wk10: Society and organisations are shaped by followers and not by those holding senior positions. The mind-map I produced in activity 5 clearly demonstrated how I am influenced by people around me when making decisions.
#OUB329 Wk9: When working towards a goal, collaborative leaders listen to the perspectives of others and look for win-win solutions. I have learned that my strongest capability is helping others to express themselves, but my weakest is learning how to think strategically.
