Excited we have a new way for you to come work with us @ArcadiaScience! If you’re a senior grad student or a postdoc (or equivalent scientific experience) thinking Arcadia might be the right fit for you, apply for one of our new fellowship positions!
Maybe you’d like to work towards developing evolution-based approaches to biological inquiry and drug development or tools for organism-agnostic high dimensional phenotyping.
Maybe you’re excited to experimentally test predictions from our biological structure-constrained machine learning models across species.
Maybe you are curious about leveraging open science to accelerate all stages of biological inquiry.
Maybe you’re an ambitious generative scientist looking for an opportunity to de-risk and prototype new methodologies and technologies.
Maybe you’ve been biotech-curious and think we’re a uniquely good fit for your interests and goals but can’t really know until you try.
You know your expertise and interests best so apply to the fellowship that speaks most to you:
Platform Fellow - https://t.co/35Yi0DGvIx
Evolutionary Cell Biology Fellow - https://t.co/GA5LZ5be9I
Innovation Fellow - https://t.co/VLx7vAKrIw
These will stay open and we’ll review applications on roughly a monthly cadence. Look forward to hearing from you!
BV study section canceled this morning. I’m absolutely devastated. My heart goes out to those who put so much effort into these applications and to the panel members who dedicated their time and energy to reviewing them. Hoping for a swift resolution!
It would be helpful if the @NIH could plan these study sections around the realities of being unable to post to the federal register rather than pretending like everything is perfectly normal and cancelling the meeting the day of.
Bacterial virulence study section was cancelled this morning. Sorry to all the great grants in the section, they were reviewed, and we were ready to go.
📅 Save the date: 2nd-3rd June 2025!
🔬 UK Cellular Micro is coming back to London!
We’re excited to host two amazing keynote speakers, and all other talks will be selected from submitted abstracts.
📢 Abstract submissions opening soon—stay tuned!
Appears the #NIH stopped listing meetings with the federal register. Will shortly start seeing cancelled study sections if the listings don't start back up soon.
It’s notable that the indirect cost edict came from our Acting NIH Director who spent his whole career on the NIH campus in Bethesda where he has no idea how much it cost to support the infrastructure for his research
CDC just reported H5 Bird Flu sent a person to hospital who had **no known contact with farm animals*
Person was tested for Flu, was Flu A+, H1/3 Neg
Given how few ppl get tested for Flu, we have no idea how widespread H5 really is
This is concerning
