Regardless of your political affiliation, closing the Dept. of Ed. to privatize education is a set up for an educational caste system. Education should be the great equalizer, giving all children a chance to receive a quality education, not just the ones who can afford it.

Our goal as public school teachers is to teach kids how to think, not what to think. Trump wants to change that- he is threatening funding if they don’t teach what he wants. That’s indoctrination and it’s dangerous. Our kids deserve better.
Shout out to all of our amazing teachers during this Teacher Appreciation Week! We are proud to know you, proud to work alongside you and proud to stand in solidarity with you.
As we’ve met with school leaders from across the state, it’s clear that we’re all fighting the same fight for the restoration of Foundation Aid for our schools. @EastchesterUFSD@EastchesterTA@nysut
“There are no bad authors for children… because every child is different. They can find the stories they need to, and they bring themselves to stories.”

As a civics teacher, it warms my heart to watch the response to the book-banning efforts by the community in Beaufort, SC. To understand the power of education, you should watch it; this is good journalism. https://t.co/22f0NZBGcN
Education cuts should never have been on the table. We need to fully fund our schools and support educators so that every student has the resources and opportunities they deserve to succeed. @nysut@uft

“These results underline what families have been telling us for the last two years. They don’t want culture wars; they want safe and welcoming public schools where their kids can recover and thrive” - @rweingarten https://t.co/8uRLbruLcR
Those who won in this year’s election don't want to engage in this banning of books or censoring of honest history or undermining who kids are. https://t.co/kK4e5ovTwl
Ever wonder why right-wing media suddenly erupts with school controversies? These stories infiltrate your news feed and even your life. But dig a little deeper, and it’s often pure fabrication. Here’s what happened last week.
