In a stunning/unheard of turn of events, Chicago Public Schools is giving up its plans to convert NTA into a high school. Comes after a dramatic decision by a judge granting a preliminary injunction while a lawsuit challenging the plan moves forward.

Since Chicago started shutting down schools as an education strategy in 2002, 70,160 students have lived through a closing or seen all staff at their school fired; 61,420 of those students were black.
