Its official: Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan have signed the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement at a trilateral summit in Makkah.

The pact states that an armed attack on any one of the three countries will be considered an attack on all, while significantly expanding defence cooperation and collective deterrence.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will travel to Saudi Arabia on Friday to join Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for a trilateral summit.

The three leaders are expected to formally sign a trilateral defence cooperation agreement, marking a major strategic development in the region.

I am honoured to announce that the historic ‘Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding’ has been electronically signed today between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Memorandum has been signed by honourable Presidents of both the countries and also endorsed by me as the mediator. The signing of this agreement at the highest level of the respective governments demonstrates the commitment of both sides to a diplomatic resolution of the conflict. Islamabad MoU shall enter into force with immediate effect and as a first step, Islamic Republic of Iran will instantly reopen the Strait of Hormuz and the United States of America will immediately lift the naval blockade.

I offer my heartfelt congratulations and sincere appreciation to the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump whose steadfast commitment to diplomacy and preference for peaceful resolution have once again helped end a conflict that could have led to devastating consequences for the region and beyond. I also commend the dedication and tireless efforts of the United States negotiating team, including J.D. Vance, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, for their invaluable contributions to this achievement.

I express my profound respect and appreciation to His Eminence Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Islamic Republic of Iran and President Masoud Pezeshkian for their wisdom, foresight and statesmanship in embracing the cause of peace. I also wish to recognize the efforts of the Iranian negotiating team, including Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Abbas Araghchi and Eskandar Momeni, whose patience, perseverance and commitment to constructive engagement were instrumental in bringing this agreement to fruition.

I would especially like to acknowledge the sincere efforts and constructive engagement of the leadership of the State of Qatar in helping reach this point. I also highly commend the leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Türkiye and the Arab Republic of Egypt for their indispensable role and invaluable contributions in this regard.

I would also like to make special mention of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, whose tireless efforts, selfless dedication and instrumental role were critical in facilitating this breakthrough and advancing the cause of peace and regional stability.

May this Memorandum of Understanding serve as an enduring foundation for greater understanding, mutual respect and shared prosperity for the complete region.

We welcome the agreement reached on the Memorandum of Understanding between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran. We extend our thanks to our brothers in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, as well as to all regional and international parties that contributed to creating the conditions conducive to reaching this understanding. وفاقی بجٹ کے حوالے سے وزیراعظم محمد شہباز شریف کا بیان.

میں اللہ تعالیٰ کا بے پایاں شکر ادا کرتا ہوں، جس کے فضل و کرم اور قوم کی دعاؤں سے ہم نے معاشی استحکام حاصل کیا، اور جس کی بدولت آج ہم نے بجٹ میں عوام کو ریلیف فراہم کیا. میں پاکستان کے ہر شہری کا دل کی گہرائیوں سے شکریہ ادا کرتا ہوں جس نے مشکل ترین حالات میں صبر و تحمل کا مظاہرہ کیا، مشکلات کا سامنا کیا اور اپنے ملک کے معاشی استحکام کے لیے بھرپور کردار ادا کیا-

میں نے عوام سے وعدہ کیا تھا کہ معاشی استحکام حاصل ہونے کے بعد اس کے ثمرات براہِ راست عام آدمی تک پہنچائیں گے۔ الحمدللہ، اب خوشحالی کا وقت شروع ہو چکا ہے۔ مشکل دور کے بعد جس بہتری اور ریلیف کا میں نے آپ سے وعدہ کیا تھا، اور جس ریلیف کی میری قوم حقیقی معنوں میں مستحق ہے، اس کا باقاعدہ آغاز ہو چکا ہے۔

یہ بجٹ ریلیف کا بجٹ ہے، عوامی فلاح کا بجٹ ہے۔ یہ تنخواہ دار طبقے پر بوجھ کم کرنے کا بجٹ ہے۔ یہ برآمدات میں اضافے، صنعتوں کے فروغ، زرعی ترقی اور سرمایہ کاری کے فروغ اور معاشی ترقی کا بجٹ ہے۔ اس بجٹ کا بنیادی مقصد یہ ہے کہ معیشت کی مضبوطی کے ثمرات براہِ راست عوام تک پہنچیں اور ہر طبقہ اس ترقی میں شامل ہو۔

میں اس موقع پر نائب وزیرِ اعظم اسحاق ڈار، فیلڈ مارشل سید عاصم منیر، ، وزیرِ خزانہ محمد اورنگزیب اور پوری معاشی ٹیم، چاروں صوبوں کے وزرائے اعلیٰ اور تمام متعلقہ اداروں کا شکریہ ادا کرتا ہوں، جن کی انتھک محنت، پیشہ ورانہ صلاحیت اور جذبے نے اس ریلیف کو ممکن بنایا۔

وزیراعظم اپنا گھر پروگرام کے تحت عوام کو اپنی چھت کی سہولت فراہم کرنے سے لے کر ٹیکس ریلیف تک، نوجوانوں کے لیے روزگار کے مواقع پیدا کرنے متوسط طبقے پر بوجھ کم کرنے ، اور کاروباری سرگرمیوں کو فروغ دینے کے لیے آپ کی حکومت نے ٹھوس اور مؤثر اقدامات کیے ہیں. انشاءاللہ تعالٰی ترقی کا یہ سفر بھرپور طریقے سے جاری رہے گا اور ہم عوا�� کہ فلاح و بہبود کے لیے ہر ممکن اقدامات کریں گے۔

Amid ongoing intense mediation efforts by Pakistan, we are fully aware of incessant misinformation campaign being waged by those who want to sabotage the peace deal. Setting aside the noise, we can confirm that a final, agreed upon text of the peace deal has been reached and Pakistan is now working closely with both sides to finalize the next steps. Peace has never been this close as it is now.
