my bull thesis for Polkadot...in 9 points.
strap in, it'll be a long read ☕️
Polkadot is inevitable ⭕️
unfortunately, most of CT cannot see it simply because $DOT price has underperformed so far. but it is misguided to overlook Polkadot cos of historical price performance.
why DOT scam coin?
most of the hate Polkadot gets is from people who feel wronged by Polkadot cos the price didn’t moon as they expected.
i understand and empathize with this cos i’m in the same boat (great expectations meeting cruel reality). that said, there’s a thin line between rational market analysis and emotion-driven thinking.
the second leaves one with the feeling that DOT can never make it regardless of signs to the contrary (simply cos they now hate it, and so everyone must too).
why DOT boooolish?
Polkadot’s inevitability isn’t tied to price but to the trajectory of its tech and ecosystem, both of which are on the uptrend.
i don’t seek to address the obvious factors like:
- Mythical Games migrating from Ethereum to Polkadot due to its superior tech (and bringing with it top titles NFL Rivals, Pudgy Penguins, FIFA Rivals, etc.)
- 300% increase in stablecoin issuance
- highest TPS of any chain
- 200% increase in CT mentions since the Kaito announcement
- #1 dePin project built on Polkadot
- Polkadot being home to 10 of the top 20 blockchains by transaction count
the factors i consider are those that enable the obvious factors.
1. proof of evolvability / pivotability
the first few years of Polkadot’s existence were driven by the desire to make the most technically pure blockchain possible.
mistakes were made due to faulty assumptions (parachain-only design being the most devastating).
this focus on technical purity was the prime culprit for Polkadot’s poor UX in the past. it’s as if we were more focused on creating the best blockchain, as opposed to the most usable blockchain.
however, with the soft-pivot to Polkadot 2.0 (removing auctions and making it easier for teams to build and deploy rollups) and the hard-pivot to JAM (in the near future), Polkadot has shown that it is capable of one of the most important attributes of a startup—pivotability: the ability to not be bound by your first assumptions.
this is far more important than making the right assumptions the first time around because it is proof that any past errors are fixable.
2. Parity’s new northstars
to prove the practical benefit of Polkadot’s evolvability, consider: @paritytech, who once worshipped at the alter of ‘the most advanced blockchain’, has now cast down this god in favor of a new one more relevant to where Polkadot needs to be—usability.
the pantheon of usability includes religious focus on:
a) stability: which ensures that there will no longer be breaking changes (a source of deep frustration to devs in the past). i’ve followed this development to verify that it is more than lip service. it’s actually happening
b) user experience - look no further than the seamless UX of Polkadot wallets like Nova Wallet and Talisman.
to be clear, Polkadot is the easiest to use blockchain in crypto. before arguing with me, download Nova Wallet and give it a shot.
c) developer experience - as evidenced by the heightened focus on more tooling, improved documentation, upcoming EVM compatibility on AssetHub, and various initiatives to fund and support developers.
the one value that underpins these ideas is the improved focus on commercialisation. to this end, there is greater focus on product-focused development and go-to-market.
3. Gav, a king without the crown
it is a mark of great character when a man can admit their own shortcomings and make the necessary adjustments.
Ethereum & Polkadot founder, Gavin Wood, proved to be such a man by stepping down at Parity because he "isn’t wired to be CEO of a company".
while some saw this move as a bad sign, i saw it as the opposite. almost a year later and i am certain i was right.
that Gav is willing to let someone else wield power means that the chances of his ego getting in the way of Polkadot’s future growth is limited.
for this reason, it is easier for other power-invested-individuals to emerge (people who resonate with the feelings or desires of the community).
but more important than these considerations is that fact that Gav is now more free to be a visionary. hence the rapid progress on JAM and Individuality.
4. W3F & the birth of a starship
for any decentralized protocol or movement to succeed, it needs to attract top-quality contributors who are driven by more than financial incentives.
in the past, Parity was responsible for all aspects of growth, marketing, and BD for Polkadot. being a purely technological company, it’s little surprise that it was unable to execute on all these roles perfectly.
in response, Parity was stripped of these burdens and it was handed over to the community, with the @Web3foundation acting as a facilitator/bridge.
the result is 20+ new companies all owning a specific field of problems to proffer the best solutions.
although this experiment has been going on for less than a year, it has already borne some fruits:
- new comprehensive developer docs provided by @papermoonIO (a company focused on developer relations)
- new ATH on stablecoins ~$114m with partial thanks to work from @v_labs
- impressive events production and coordination by @WebZero
- improved ecosystem marketing led by @distractivexyz
- improved social media management by the Social Media Editorial Board (an initiative presented by @ET90266
- improved focus on gaming partnerships led by @dotplayteam
- and more i have skipped out on.
5. JAM is a BIGGER deal than you can imagine
to fully explain what JAM is is beyond the scope of this writeup. i’ve written about JAM here - https://t.co/5nGXm6twK1, but the best post that captures the seismic shift that JAM represents is this - https://t.co/qoD5ofxodw
6. Polkadot Hub + Cloud as rallying northstars
one of Polkadot’s biggest blunders in the first bull run was not having a home for smart contract developers. if you wanted to build on Polkadot, you had to build a parachain.
think of the Hub as Polkadot’s L1 to rival Ethereum and Solana, while the Cloud is Polkadot as the multi-chain connector (basically, Polkadot as-is).
of the two, the Hub holds the most promise for Polkadot’s growth. until now, the smart contract development world hasn’t been exposed to the sheer superiority of Polkadot’s tech.
this all changes with the Hub which should be live in Q2 or Q3.
7. the tech is undeniable
rather than waxing lyrical about the technical terms, i’ll point out the facts enabled by superior tech:
- not once has the Polkadot network gone down despite heavy use by some of its rollups
- #1 chain by TPS as proven during 2024’s spammening event, reaching 140k TPS
- highest bandwidth
- Polkadot wallets are the gold standard in UX (particularly Nova Wallet & Talisman)
- Polkadot-SDK is used by top teams outside of the Polkadot ecosystem (Avail, Cardano Midnight, Bittensor,
- the only trustless bridges in crypto exist on Polkadot—Hyperbridge (an omni-bridge to almost everywhere) and Snowbridge (Ethereum)
- biggest gaming (@enterthemythos) and dePin (@peaq) chains are on Polkadot
8. the 'delusion' of the DOT community
some accuse those who still ‘believe’ in the massive potential of Polkadot of being delusional because the price and adoption metrics of the last couple years haven’t been great.
but consider, isn’t the hallmark of a project that will make it a dedicated/delusional community? in that sense then, Polkadot is in good hands.
don’t get me wrong, i don’t consider myself delusional for sticking with DOT. my convictions lie with the facts as i understand them.
9. principles matter / watcher at the rim
of all the blockchains in the top 20 on CMC, i can boldly say that none align with the ethos of decentralization more than Polkadot bar Bitcoin.
the proof is in:
- the ever-increasing nakomoto coefficient...149 rn.
- the maturity of OpenGov…hate it all you want, but no other blockchain has such a robust governance system. - over 1000 referendums voted on by DOT holders
- the transparency of W3F and OpenGov
- the increasing participation of the community in all facets of Polkadot's existence. i.e.
is managed by the community...how many projects trust their community enough to hand over their X account to them?
- the purity of a protocol that made no tradeoffs—resilience, scalability, interoperability
- and other markers of decentralization i have skipped on.
conclusion
when you put all these together, what emerges is a picture of Polkadot’s inevitability. this inevitability is underscored by the facts.
yes, price isn’t great. but does that erase the facts? the market will eventually catch up.
the adoption metrics are going up (number of transactions up 4x) but they haven’t reached or crossed an inflection point. it will take time to cross this point, but it will definitely be crossed.
until the adoption metrics become undeniable to all who are watching, DOT may continue to underperform and that is okay.
the life of a project or token doesn’t end because the bull market is over. this kind of thinking is promoted by fear of missing out.
people scream about buying Nvidia today but forget that there were people who held it for more than 10 years when it didn’t seem like a winner to the outside world.
there have been times i’ve questioned my investment in DOT, but these doubts have eroded over the last year cos i can see the signs of great progress.

When Market moves upward, $BTC Price increases including all ALTs & amongst all Top ALTs, $DOT price often rises the least.
#WHYPolkadot ???
@Polkadot
Looking at the image, $ETH does seem somewhat similar to Polkadot $DOT! Both have unique, layered structures in their ecosystems, which makes the comparison interesting. #ETH#DOT

Spring has arrived, everyone! Congrats on a new peak for #BTC#75K $! Dominance climbing with price action, right? BTC.D at 60.8. Trump no1 @realDonaldTrump
$BTC dominance has reached 60%, with the next target potentially around 70-73%. While I think this scenario is unlikely, it’s not something we can completely rule out. Best to stay prepared for the worst-case short-term outlook for altcoins.
