When the NHL puts out its annual sappy ad spot depicting how much courage and valour and hard work it takes to win the Cup, I hope that they also mention that you could either devote your entire life to winning the Cup...or you could be the middle-school child of a billionaire.
This surprises no one.
Donald Trump would love to acquire Canada. Donald Trump would love to acquire Alberta. @LichTamara@ChrisBarber1975@david_parker@Martyupnorth , etc…are all examples of treasonous separatist scum.
Anti vax, anti science stupid just like MAGA. Ignoring all of the blatantly horrible things about Trump and cheering him on, just like MAGA…
You are all thoroughly disgusting.
Never to be forgiven by true proud Canadians. #IAMCANADIAN🇨🇦
Trump's Fourth of July Fiasco: Fist-Pumping Fury, Empty Seats, and a Constitution-Sized Faceplant
Behold the fearless leader — eyes half-shut, drenched in sweat, slumped behind rain-streaked glass like he's one bad poll away from nodding off.
This wasn't the image of a strong, energetic president celebrating America’s 250th birthday. This was Donald Trump looking completely spent, grumpy, and over it.
What a pathetic spectacle. Instead of inspiration or unity, we got another tired "us versus them" McCarthy-esque rant about communist threats, while the country largely stayed home. The empty seats weren't a fluke — they were the audience's verdict.
Then came the Constitution. He butchered it like cheap karaoke — mangling quotes, twisting its meaning, and using the founding document as a prop for his own authoritarian fantasies. The Founders warned against exactly this kind of petty, self-serving demagoguery. Trump turned it into a highlight reel of his grievances.
This wasn't a celebration, it was a dictator-wannabe sociopath melting under the weight of his own ego and malignant narcissism.
Happy birthday, America. Next year, maybe get someone who can stay awake through the whole thing.
In 1964, Buster Keaton came to Canada to make his final silent film.
It was The Railrodder, a 25-minute comedic travelogue of Canada produced by the National Film Board. It became a classic beloved to this day.
This is the story.

Jul 2, 1969: the last narrow gauge CN Train No. 102 leaves the Port-au-Basques station, headed for St. John's, Newfoundland. The departure of Newfoundland's last passenger train ended one of the most colourful, unique chapters in North American railway history. 1/3
Our prayers are with Danny Glover and his family following his Alzheimer's diagnosis. For decades, Danny has used his voice not only to entertain, but to fight for justice, equality, and human dignity. His courage in sharing this diagnosis reminds us that Alzheimer's touches millions of families and that those living with it deserve compassion and support.
I wish Canada, Prime Minister @MarkJCarney, and all Canadians a Happy Canada Day. Ukraine joins you in celebrating this day. We appreciate Canada’s leadership in helping us protect the lives of our people across many domains: defense assistance, pioneering work on sanctions against Russia’s shadow fleet and financial sector, diplomatic advocacy, and much more. We are grateful that we can count on your continued support in all these areas. Thank you, Canada!
If a nurse gives a Senator $50 to vote for Medicare for All, it's illegal.
But Larry Ellison, worth $202 billion, spent $45 million to get Trump elected. So Trump is helping his family control:

And more
That’s a corrupt campaign finance system.
“Pierre Poilievre was Housing Minister in Stephen Harper’s Conservative government, which allowed 800,000 affordable rental units to be sold off to corporate landlords and developers. Under Harper, the average home price in Canada went up 70%, and Poilievre refused to do anything about it.”
