A special thanks to @MolinesArthur whose work on cytoplasmic viscosity and MT growth (https://t.co/q3wiUL1mOV)
led us to explore more on the effect of crowding on de novo MT polymerization
A two year long project along with a year of writing and rigorous peer review and a major part of my PhD is out. A huge shoutout to the team led by @AthaleLab
Building microtubules is like painting a masterpiece - crowdants are the brushes, and their size & concentration shape the strokes! Jashaswi Basu et al. unveil how crowding impacts collective polymerization. Dive into the microscopic art! https://t.co/yrEfpSV73T
Join us for #NationalScienceDay2025 this Friday for day-long set of events planned on #IISERPune campus! And activities at #Kalpakghar community STEM-tinkering centre at @pcsciencepark! Schedule, registration and other details here:

Role for the tail of the kinesin-1 motor. Full length kinesin-1 with a tail w/ microtubule bdg can cause bending of microtubule bending, oscillations and looping. A minimal motor w/out tail only shows microtubule gliding. Jashaswi Basu student @AthaleLab@IISERPune in #M2T22025
