If you impact and shock load the support structure with hundreds of tons of debris, and then the weight of the load continues to increase on the way down, it'll all collapse. These videos completely disprove the presence of lower floor explosives as the cause.

@KTFBurnsDC I agree Chief! This and standing in high heat. I've noticed plenty in last few years, firefighters going into heavily involved spaces standing up. Both are training scars that will result in unnecessary injuries and missing victims. Poor instruction.

@SunCoastChief This fire, today, would be managed differently. 2-1/2 too big, yes, but would have been fine with an early reset and cooling of the fire. At the time, resetting wasn't a widely known tactic, engine crews seldom carried TICs, and water was often withheld during search.
