Great morning at Labour's campaign launch in Lancing, West Sussex, hearing Keir Starmer outline why Labour is the party to deliver change.
On 4th July, you have the opportunity to effect the change this country needs. #VoteLabour
Aldershot and Farnborough is now the frontline of British politics. The General Election will be decided here.
Thank you @patmcfaddenmp, National Coordinator of Labour’s Election campaign, for coming to thank the brilliant team who delivered an historic victory in Rushmoor.
Thank you to residents across #Aldershot and #Farnborough for putting your trust in Labour.
So proud of our amazing team who won @RushmoorCouncil for the first time ever.
This is only the beginning. Join the campaign to bring change to our community. https://t.co/9uHIsdVmTc

Re-elect Cllr Charlotte Gerada in Central Southsea to continue working hard on the council to create a fairer, greener and safer city. Vote Labour on Thursday 🗳️
It’s time for change in #Aldershot - and Labour is ready to deliver.
@JohnHealey_MP and I visited the @RiversideEHT project at Mike Jackson House to discuss how a Labour Government can better support our veterans.
BBC Politics South came to Farnborough and @Peter_Henley found the big hole where our leisure centre should be.
After 24 years of Conservatives running @RushmoorCouncil, it’s time for a change.
Very positive afternoon in Newport, Isle of Wight speaking to business owners, retail staff and residents. Delighted to be joined by Emily Brothers, Labour's Parliamentary candidate for Isle of Wight East.
Everyone should be able to feel safe on their own streets and town centres. Labour’s plan is to put 13,000 neighbourhood police and community support officers back on the beat. Great to be campaigning with Labour’s candidate for Police and Crime Commissioner, Becky Williams
Labour's plan to tackle anti-social behaviour includes:
✅ 13,000 more police and PCSOs
✅Powers to ban repeat offenders from town centres
✅Reversing the Tories’ decision to downgrade
shoplifting of items under £200
✅A new programme to divert young people away from crime
Nobody should be afraid to go to work, shop on their local high street. Yet soaring levels of retail crime have seen shopworkers face appalling levels of violence and abuse at work. As a Labour & Co-op candidate, I support calls to strengthen protections for our shopworkers.
I became aware of police violence against women and girls after writing about the death of Claire Parry, in May 2021 - we need action, not words. Thank you, @RefugeCharity, for all that you do, because:
"Last Thursday was a big day for Refuge. They handed in their petition for police reform to the Home Secretary with just under 50,000 signatures to Number 10 Downing Street - pushing for the suspension of police officers and staff accused of violence against women and girls related misconduct while under investigation.
Last year, Refuge found that only 24% of police officers and staff accused of VAWG were suspended pending investigation despite over 1,100 reported cases of misconduct.
This alarming trend allows potential perpetrators to stay in power, putting survivors at risk and eroding trust in law enforcement.
Refuge urges the Government to respond swiftly to their petition. Their goal is consistent suspension policies across all police forces, ensuring survivors feel secure and trust in the justice system".
I can assure Refuge that Portsmouth Labour Women stands with you.
