Good News for thousands of horses and mules abused thanklessly during the #Kedarnath, #HemkundSahib, #Yamunotri & #Gomukh treks.

🐎 The Hon’ble High Court passed directions to -
1. Stop use of horses/mules after sunset till sunrise
2. Stop the use of unregistered equines
3. Regulate the load being carried by each equine
4. Not exceed one trip per day
5. Daily health check of each animal after unsafdling it to ensure no wounds or lameness.
6. Creation of infirmaries for injured, diseased, disabled and malnourished equines and those that are seized by the police
7. Blacklisting handlers that are found to be cruel to equines
8. Provision of warm potable water for equines throughout the route
9. Testing each equine for Glanders, a deadly zoonotic disease
10. Implementing stampede prevention mechanisms at regular intervals across the pilgrim routes.

We will further assist the state machinery in complying by these directions and make Devbhoomi Uttarakhand a role model in our treatment of animals.
